My intention tonight was to write about 'Black Adam' (a movie which i genuine enjoyed), but the world remind us if you are a DC Fan, you have no right to be happy. Because THIS happen, and its time to talk about and give my 2 cents. 🧵

Before dive in, FINALLY people are accepting that TSS floped (but a friendly tip, wasn't because of MAX dual release. From Mortal Kombat to Dune, all these movies had dual releases AND made bank).

"Walter Hamada" and "well liked" in the same sentence, what a joke.

FINALLY, people are starting to make the right questions. And is a 4 year-deal, like the ones in the past. Wise move, for several reasons i'll explain ahead.

In Hollywood, if you are a white mediocre man with contacts, you can do anything.

Now, from THR: Gunn taking care of the "creative side" is what worries us all.

'Folie a Deux' will escape Gunn's claws, but 'The
Batman universe' can end having interference from Gunn and Safran from now on. Lets see how things developed.

Safran worked on The Conjuring franchise, but that didn't say much, Hamada helped as well in the franchise (besides been a "New Line Guy" back then).

"Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn" yeah, they all will have movies in the DCEU now foward, that's for sure.

History and Time show to us that is easier say than do, pals.

And that highlited part is interesting and relevant for the discussion.

That confirm certain rumors rolling around the movie, but is also another important point to bring into the conversation.

Well, i'm not a fan of James Gunn. Don't think he is a good filmmaker, or a "maverick", he is a guy what (on the blockbusters he made) bet on what its safe and exxageration of concepts. But worst than that [+]

His work with DC highlighted how bad he is. TSS is a movie what tries so hard and fail too much, with him desparate trying to make a imprint in a movie devoid of reason and genuine emotion, inside some pretty looks.

Gunn was Hamada's poster boy, the one what should be reference on that the DC Films should be. That's why, even with TSS floped, he still push the envelop for him to make Peacemaker works, and for his luck, it did it.

But still, the series catch the mediocricity os TSS and extented to 8-10 hours of really, REALLY bad content.

And the problems are the same: trying too hard to be cool, to pretend his message isn't shallow, working with characters like it hate them, treating like avatars what could be easily replaced for any other character, [+]

ignoring their comics roots (at least not completely for Peacemaker itself) just to make a inprint on them. But the problem here lies in the fact the comic book versions, which Gunn choose to blindy ignore,[+]

are WAY more interesting than his version, and if he bothered to follow the comics, their projects would improve exponentially. [+]

Of course, now in the position he had, he have full power to bring any major actor to make their 12-years-old bad jokes in season 2 of Peacemaker work as a "connective issue" or whatever shitty idea came to his mind.

BUT, besides all, i triy to be the voice of reason around the Funny Farm, so lets deal with the facts. First, Zaslav, De Luca e Horn already have a setup plan in motion.

Much of the problem to find somebody for the role isn't just the possible production deals, but in special the person want more freedom to do whatever they wanted. This ain't the case here. Zaslav knows what he wants, and had the lucky to find 2 "yes, men" for the role.

Of course, now Peter and Gunn can reestructure things, but still have to work into the Plan what was originally build by their superiors. They cannot run outside that line traced, so at least, in therms of priorities and projects, they have a very fixed list to worjh with.

And what list is that? JL members + Harley Quinn. Is really soon to say if Cyborg, GL or Martian Manhunter will have their time at the sun, but they have made clear that the big ones will be priority.

And the choices what Gunn and Peter do here will really defined for those outside the common Gunn dickriders (Gunnriders? Cool name, lets work with that) if their ternure as such will improve the quality, beyond the ones leading them.

Gunn have a long historical of getting all the credit (or even straight-stealing it) from different writers along the years, so is hard to think he will be the guy what will allow "creative freedom" to major projects with such distinctive vision.

And besides he allowed to direct a movie and a TV series, the though of a TSS2 and more seasons of Peacemaker would be Gunn's priority, but we have to be worried if he would go outside the line of the things he consider his strenghts.

Because for the Gunnriders, the fact he's helming DC means validation of his previous DC projects (which didn't), and if he helms DC, there is no problem for him to make a Batman or a Superman movie right? Or a Batwoman series when she gets straight (IYKYK).

As as everybody pointed out, we maybe just heard about the future DC projects next year, after The Flash releases (or even close to quaman 2 release). They have a LOT of work to do to now organize things, and that will take a immense amount of time.

Peter Safran looks like a staright guy, in therms of dealing and negotiating as a producer, and will take some of the weight on Gunn shoulders. He's not preteing he is a "comics guys" also will avoid the mistakes done in the Hamada era, [+]

besides the major problem here is Gunn been the "comic guy". Gunn and peter have to respect the 10-year Plan but also given them personality, and there is no way to do it without a strong team taking care of the movie.

And now, we come back for this info right here. Horn and Zaslav want to implement the "Pixar method" to the DC Films, so the choices of creatives behind will the the make-or-break of their period of command.

In a certain way, 'Black Adam' already worked with that idea very well, and expect now on actors also be heavily involved with the negotiations and deals of how the movie will be.

If the intention is to give support for these creative teams allow to do their job inside the plan, maybe have a *minimal* change for the Gunn/Safran ternure works. But again, all depend with the names chosen, and if Gunn & Safran will control themselves and let others work.

Cavill, Charles Roven and the Garcias (vbet your ass they are there as well) will make the next Superman movie. Serra, the rock abnd the Garcias helmed Black Adam. Reeves is caretaking his The Batman universe. [+]

Things are already moving towards that path, the thing is, Gunn and Safran is here to make them stay in line of push them aside by his will, independent of the 10-Year Plan? The choices of creatives will be the key elements here. And also: time.

For now, i can't say that i am happy and excited for the future of the DCEU (definitely not), but also doesn't shock me they choose somebody inside the house (besides they had better names than Gunn for this, but also could be worst).

For us, reasonable people what just want more Snyder to close his saga and Ayer get the respect he deserves, unfortunely we have to keep making noise. A LOT of noise, starting by November 5th with #ReleaseTheAyerCut. And then, everyday, #RestoreTheSnyderverse.

Is not the reality what we wanted, but is the reality we are living it. And if have to change the world, we have to change it by force, there is no other choice. So keep beating the drums nfor #ReleaseTheAyerCut and #RestoreTheSnyderverse. [+]

History show it was worthy when we release The Snyder Cut, and we have to make the world understand what is the best for them. Also, imagine see the mindfuck from the Gunnriders when he of all make make the Ayer cut happen? That alone is worth to fight for.

And lets see how these next 4 years will bring. Will definitely not be easy to watch (and to deal with the damn Gunnriders), but as Pariah, we have seen worlds before been rebuild and destroyed, and aways something worst coming later.

As we stand right now, we have to yell our wishes for #ReleaseTheAyerCut and #RestoreTheSnyderverse, and hope for the next world deliver what we want, and what this universe deserve to be.
