Now #HelloHydrogen are lobbying for blending, which would require £ tens of billions investment in electrolysis or CCS.

Fact: There's a 94 million tonne, $120 billion, global market for hydrogen today, almost all made from fossil fuels. Clean it first!

If you do go to the brainache of making clean hydrogen, blending it into gas is the worst use for it.
Fact: power generation uses 1/4 of UK gas; renewables->H2->power wastes 70%! Space heating uses half of UK gas; RE->H2->heat is 46% efficient. RE->heat pump is 270% efficient!

The #HelloHydrogen crowd want you to believe you can just "Keep the boiler, change the gas".
Facts: Hydrogen will be at least twice as expensive per unit heat as fossil gas. And a "H2 blend ready" boiler will not remotely prepare your home for 100% H2.

Finally, the #HelloHydrogen crowd have spent years telling you heat pumps require more insulation and new radiators.
Fact: they have also spent years setting up condensing boilers at the wrong flow temp. Almost all houses can be warm at 60C flow temp, ie they are #HeatPumpReady

Really finally: the #HelloHydrogen @HelloHydrogen crowd are desperate not to talk about NOx pollution. All combustion produces NOx, but hydrogen particularly, because of its high flame temp. They want us all producing NOx in our homes. We really just need to stop burning stuff.
