It’s a new Monday, so time for a new entry into the #BatmanvSuperman references the DC lore series. Today, it’s time for Part 1 of the last scene of the movie Amazing Grace in the thread below! #RestoreTheSnyderVerse #BvSMondayMood

This scene has many references. Several of them to the storyline in Funeral for a Friend. And then several others to different pieces of DC media/comics. So today, I’ll cover these latter types of references and next week I’ll close out with the Funeral for a Friend ones.

So, let’s start with these peppered DC references. First, we can see similarities in Superman’s funeral to the Comedian funeral in Watchmen. This is not too surprising since Zack Snyder was behind the camera in both.

Then, we get Lex in prison where his prisoner number references the comic issue where Lex first appears (Action Comics #23, 1940). Also, the bat branding resembles the one happening in the comic Batman Annual #1 (2012).

In prison Lex mentions somebody is coming using the famous Ding Ding Ding (and we know he has been communicating with Apokolips). This sound is very close to the Ping Ping Ping motherboxes emit in Justice League #2 (New 52).

Bruce’s speech to Diana has some similarities with how Lois writes about Superman in Superman for all Seasons #2.

Additionally, this speech is also closely related to one the Batman gives in front of a Superman monument in Justice League: Hereafter Part 1

And to close out, we get a beautiful shot of Heroes Park resembling a lot some images from the DCAU, in the same episode Justice League Hereafter Part 1 also during Superman’s funeral.
