Scottish Labour Party @ScottishLabour
voted For the #GRR but they recognise the bill needs ammendments & gave a commitment to "seek to amend the bill at stage 2 to respect the primacy of the Equality Act 2010 and to have that placed on the face of the bill".

What happens next? stage 2
The #GRR Bill goes back to the @SP_EHRCJ Committee & MSPs can suggest amendments
Other concerns included the lowering of the age from 16 to 18
& cross border issues
There may be more ammendments suggested The deadline for submission is 9 November

The Committee @SP_EHRCJ will scrutinise any ammendments from 15 November

Our concerns haven't changed #GRR allows a man to self identify as a woman This enables predators to take advantage of women & children
Any man can say he's a woman-
⚠️to be treated on a female hospital ward
⚠️to play in women's sports
⚠️to enter a rape crisis centre

Any man can say he's a woman-
⚠️to accept an award for women only
⚠️to be counted as a woman in official data
⚠️to have his crime recorded as a woman's crime
⚠️to serve his sentence in a female prison
⚠️to join a woman only shortlist
⚠️to change in female
Changing rooms

Any man can say he's a woman-
⚠️to intimately search female suspects
⚠️to take a job that is women only
⚠️to exercise or swim in women only sessions
⚠️to provide intimate care to vulnerable women & girls
⚠️to provide intimate care to people with disabilities who can't consent

Any boy can say he’s a girl-
⚠️to sleep in the same room as girls on residential outings
⚠️to use girls toilets

This erodes safeguards put in place to protect children & young people
