AllianceBlock recently attended a @GBGplc event in London.

The event started with @JamieJBartlett discussing the well renowned #TheMissingCryptoQueen podcast. It was highlighted how better regulation and compliance controls could reduce fraud of this scale and nature.

@amber_ghaddar participated in a panel discussion which was moderated by @PeterMcCormack and included; @ashertn of @GetCoinJar, @AlexBatlin of @bitpanda, Lynn Mcconnell of @FranceBinance, Gautam Hazari of @NowSecureMobile and Darnell Walker of @GBGplc .

In the panel various topics were discussed. One topic that was touched upon by each panel member.

‘Is compliance necessary in blockchain technology?’

Another topic that was debated;

‘Does less anonymity mean more transparency or does more anonymity mean less transparency?’

Another topical point was the variety of fraudulent behaviour that exists in both traditional & blockchain markets.

“Traditional markets aren’t immune to scams. Blockchain is seen as the wild west but there’s a plethora of traditional financial market scams occurring every day”

Another discussion point was the varying levels of cryptocurrency regulation in each region or country.

“Every cryptocurrency asset in Spain has to have a government regulated terms and conditions included”

AllianceBlock co-founder @amber_ghaddar highlighted;

“How difficult it is to have a single view of current regulations. What we need beyond educating the regulator, is more lobbying, more lobbying from the industry with governments, with the regulators.”
