Something significant is happening in China
Yet not a word of it on western media

The Ministry of Civil Affairs and Ministry of Housing have jointly issued a notice called:

"Integrated Community Development Plan"

What is it, and why is it important for China and the world...🧵
The plan calls for the government to build integrated communities at selected locations around the country

An integrated Community includes:
Community kitchens for elderly
Community Kindergarten
Community health clinics
Service centers etc
The required area for a community service center, cannot be lower than 30 square meters per 100 residents

The Community kitchens are already operational in some communities

For example, this one in Shanghai
Elderly and low-income residents can come here and eat homecooked meal at a very low price

This is the menu outside of Caihongwan park community kitchen, in the middle of Shanghai

If you dine-in, nothing costs more than 20 yuan (2.78 US dollars)
And the portions are pretty big

This tray at a different community kitchen costs 22 yuan (3.06 US dollars)
Other than government funded facilities, the plan also seeks to attract private business into the community, including:

hairdressers, convenient stores, laundromat and pharmacy etc

Utilities and community infrastructure improvements is also part of the plan
They include, improvements in drainage,
central heating and gas piping etc

Some communities are even getting elevators added to their old buildings, so elderly living on higher floors can get in and out easily
Apart from physical infrastructures

Online infrastructure that connects communities onto a centralized network is also part of the plan

Using big data and cloud computing, to better manage communities, and facilitate a more efficient online-to-offline service/ delivery system
Everything must be in walking distance, core services must not be more than 10 minutes of walk time
The communities are also organically divided, with major arterial road being the boundaries

Which means this plan does not seek to displace existing population

Rather it's a new way of managing existing communities and providing them with more services
This aligns well with President Xi's policy of building China into a modern, developed socialist state in all respects

The community based Kindergarten also helps to address the urgent need of raising the birthrate
To understand China, Western media just needs to read the government policies and government actions

But somehow, to them, China is still an enigma, they are of course deliberately constructing a false narrative on China

A falsehood even they themselves, have started to believe

China's PLA have recently disbanded the independent service branch of Strategic Support Force.

Splitting it into 3 smaller, but more specialized Independent Arms.

They are; 🛰️Aerospace Force, 🛜Cyberspace Force and💻Information Support Force.

What does it mean? 1/6🧵 Image
In China, "Junzhong" means Service Branch, for the PLA it's Army, Air Force, Navy and Rocket Force.

"Bingzhong" are Independent Arms.

Inter-service branch cooperation needs Theatre Command Level authorization.

Independent Arms are lower in the structure, which means...
Smaller units are embedded into lower level units, which is way more flexible, but requires restructuring.

In 2016, the reforms set up the Strategic Support Force (SSF) a 5th Service Branch.

SSF was responsible for Cyberspace, Space and Information warfare at the Theatre level Image

The use of Augmented reality combat systems in China and US exemplifies the different approach of the 2 militaries.

Left, China's simple good enough system that has been in mass deployment for years.

Right, US system that's bulky, over engineered and stuck in development
1/4🧵

Both system essentially does the same thing, using augmented reality to overlay images seen through the goggles.

The US's IVAS system is more capable, but also very bulky and heavy, something the average infantry testing it hates.

View through the Chinese system:
Instead of cramming everything in the goggle itself, like the American IVAS;

The Chinese individual AR combat system distribute the computing power to terminals on the chest and/or on the wrist.

Huawei is making huge moves into the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

If you're wondering how can a private company have so much resources, here's Huawei's secret to success.

1/5🧵 Image
Habo is the investment arm of Huawei.

As a company determined to help China to achieve technology and supply chain independence; Habo Investment seek out partnerships with provincial governments, who funds Huawei directed projects in strategic industries. Image
Huawei would identify weak points in our supply chain and use their relationship with the state to directing funding towards that sub-category of industry.

Huawei as a patriotic company with social responsibilities, do not seek monopoly, even when they are capable of it. Image

There has been talks of China's "overcapacity".

When in reality it's just Chinese companies advancing in technology and competitiveness.

A more nuanced argument by some states that China's overreliance on manufacturing over consumption is bad.

Is that really the case?
1/5🧵 Image
China is currently in a transitioning phase, economically and technologically.

Chinese companies are already or have just became some of the most advanced in their industries.

This new found competitiveness will disrupt the existing market.

Case in point, the auto industry.
The rise in productivity will increase the prosperity of the society.

Sectors that are on the cutting edge, will have a ripple effect across the whole supply chain. Increasing profit and pay.

Higher wage means more consumption

China's prosperity are built on:

1️⃣Industrial foundation during Mao era, with Soviet help, which was the biggest organized industry transfer in history.

2️⃣Reform & opening up, building up the biggest foreign-exchange reserve.

Why India doesn't have any of these 2.
1/10🧵 Image
The "experts" that claims India will match China are simply delusional, and do not fundamentally understand what made China successful.

The steep wealth increase in China was the INDIRECT result of the 2 things mentioned above.
The most direct increase in wealth among Chinese families are actually the property value.

Housing in its essence is just a wooden or concrete box, its real value exists in the location and services near it (schools, healthcare, transport and job opportunities). Image

When people see the robot installation by country.

They think it'll be easy for the US to reindustrialize, or for underdeveloped countries like India to industrialize and catchup

Here are the reasons why, it's very difficult for both type of nations:
1/7🧵 Image
1️⃣High-end Industrial robots are very hard to manufacture.

Only China, Germany, Japan has the entire high-end industrial robot supply chain.

Here's China's Chietom, a handful of companies in the world that makes high-end RV reducers. Which makes up ~36% of the cost of a robot.
2️⃣Not a single aspect of manufacturing exists in a vacuum.

Even after your company have bought the robots for manufacturing, your company would only be occupying a small part of the overall supply chain.
