To everyone who supported me throughout my extremely distressing experience with the RNAO after I was attacked for speaking out against racism at Polish borders, I'd like to say thank you.

The RNAO has now closed the case. They concluded that their attack on me wasn't racist.
They have since "cancelled" me despite still being a member (temporarily for personal reasons). It's beyond hurtful when perpetrators of racism also get to decide what isn't racism. There was no apology or acknowledgement for the harm they caused. Racism is alive in nursing.
I will never forget how the RNAO sided with a white conservative MPP (who voted for Bill 124, Bill 28, against #paidsickdays and everything else inequities) to attack and threaten me for calling out racism at Polish borders.
About 100 nurses & student nurses signed the letter calling for accountability regarding RNAO's attack. Still not enough to hold them accountable. Wow! @cathyacrowe @GrittyNurse

For those who think advocacy is mere noise, you're wrong. After countless emails, petitions etc, the Minister of Immigration will be issuing temporary visas for spouses in the family reunification stream. I wish I had this for the 10yrs I suffered. I'm glad others will benefit.
Here you go! Canada is in need of over-qualified immigrant professionals to exploit as laborers in factories and as uber drivers. They need 500 thousand of such people.

A Canadian tire employee was tasered down by Hamilton police while he was having an epileptic seizure. What is their excuse this time? The Black man was being "violent" while seizing? I thought the police had some type of training to respond to situations like these! Just awful!
@HamiltonPolice any comment? What a traumatic experience for this Black man!

I will never ever forget the scariest part of my recent encounter as a patient in one of Ontario's emergency rooms. I had just been seen by a gynecologist in a make-shift room. An hour later, I was still in the room, bleeding, in excruciating pain, and with no nurse in sight...
I recall limping through the hallway to find who my nurse was, only to be told they didn't know I was there. I had to speak to three different nurses & one doctor about my predicament until one of them had the time to find me somewhere to sit while they figured me out....
It was indeed a dehumanizing experience. I just cannot imagine how non-healthcare professionals navigate through an understaffed healthcare system. Moreso, I wonder how people with language barrier cope! The healthcare system is functioning on the backs of a few exhausted staff.

4 migrant farm workers dead in 1 week. This is a recurring tragedy in Canada. A group of migrant farmers have penned an open letter calling for more protection as they report deplorable working conditions comparable to slavery. This is Canada. Do not look away. Do not be silent.
"They physically intimidate us, destroy our personal property, and threaten to send us home,"..... "treated like mules" and punished for not being quick enough. They said they're exposed to dangerous pesticides without adequate protection, and their bosses are verbally abusive.

Urging the media to speak directly with nurses working w/private agencies. Harmful, incomplete & incorrect messages are being circulated, thus adding to the toxic work environment that agency nurses are already faced with. ALL nurses are exploited, agency or not. Seek the truth!
Some charge nurses are giving agency nurses impossible and unsafe assignments, with members of the team leaving them without help or support, just because some nursing leaders alongside the media are pushing the narrative that agency nurses are the ones making the millions.....
Who owns these private agencies? What connections do they have with the government and hospital administration? Why are private agencies able to retain nurses? What is the pull to work for private agencies? Who benefits the most? These are questions you should be asking....
