Good morning from snowy northern Nevada! No new results were posted between 2:30 am and now (thankfully 🙏🏼) but we’re expecting a lot of mail to be processed and counted today. Follow for updates 🧵 Image
The Associated Press has called #NV02 for incumbent Republican Mark Amodei. He easily defeated long shot candidate Elizabeth Mercedes Krause to win a 7th term mynews4.com/news/local/nev…
Eddie Lorton, challenger to Hillary Schieve in the Reno mayor’s race, trails by ~7k votes and posted this update on Facebook this morning.

“Please pray that we can overcome … Hope for a miracle in our City.” ImageImage
Looking through all the northern Nevada #nvleg races, it looks like AD25 is the only one where either party has a good chance to flip.

Selena La Rue Hatch (D) leads Sam Kumar (R) by 165 votes.

Seat was formerly held by retiring Republican Assm. Jill Tolles ImageImage
Looks like election workers are already starting to process mail ballots at the Washoe County registrar's office, from their live stream:
Washoe has posted the party breakdown of Election Day mail ballots. Republicans actually out voted Dems by mail yesterday by 265

5,961 Democrats
6,226 Republicans
6,292 Nonpartisans/others

Hearing that Washoe County ROV will likely give an update around 2p.

Clark County is scheduled to give an update on their ballot counting process at 11:30a, per @brettforrest89.
Republicans are currently leading in all the statewide offices, except for AG Aaron Ford who is up by 4.3% on Sigal Chattah.

LG Lisa Cano Burkhead and controller candidate Ellen Spiegel have the biggest margins to try to make up in mail votes, both down by roughly 7%. Image
@brettforrest89 Washoe ROV update has been moved up to 1p this afternoon. Of course, follow for live updates!
@brettforrest89 Got around to compiling Washoe County midterm turnout % by year. Record to beat (at least this century) is 70.13% turnout back in 2018. Image

How many mail ballots are still to be counted in Washoe County?

The registrar has at least 57k ballots in house still to be counted, plus any mail that arrives over the coming days (before or on Saturday) 📬

Washoe County spox tells me it's 'very doubtful' there will be another batch of results posted before their 1p PST virtual update.
Good time to re-up my story from a week ago today explaining in detail why it just takes longer nowadays.

We're still waiting on the rest of Washoe County's Election Day results, as well as rural (and red) Douglas and Lyon counties.

Expect GOP to boost margins in the statewide races more tonight, but...
As we reported earlier, there are at least 16,000 mail ballots not included in tonight's results still to be counted, plus whatever shows up in the mail.

Likely tens of thousands of Clark mail ballots to be counted as well.

More here: electionresults.washoecounty.gov
Hillary Schieve up 59-41 over Eddie Lorton in the race for Reno Mayor.

Washoe school board incumbents Joe Rodriguez and Adam Mayberry are ahead in these early results. Ellen Minetto trails 'Save WCSD' candidate Colleen Westlake.
