If there is only one thing that cis people are made aware of during #TransAwarenessWeek it’s what transphobia actually is.
So here it is:
Transphobia is arguing that the presence of trans people or the concept of trans anything is bad and/or dangerous.
So stop doing that
It is literally that fucking simple.
For example, EVERYTHING a certain wizard book asshole has ever said about trans anything, is transphobic because she argues the presence of trans ANYTHING is bad.
Why is this so hard for people to comprehend?
The idea that trans stuff = bad defines our healthcare, our ability to live in society and every single discussion about trans issues.
Because transphobia is everywhere.
Meanwhile, plenty of cis folks will argue I am wrong because if I am not, it would mean they are transphobic
Well, I am sorry if you are. But you can just not be like that.
It isn’t hard.
Just, stop imagining that the presence of certain kinds of people in society is bad.
That is literally how every former bigot stopped being bigots.
And it is still bigotry if you do that to us.

And the kicker is, new voter ID requirements mean that, almost certainly, some trans people will be denied the vote.
I can’t pretend that they are all as bad as each other. Clearly they aren’t.
Been going through @TransActualUK’s incredible Transition Access Survey, and not nearly done yet (will have a full report out soon) but here are some revelations from their research.
Cn: trans healthcare, mental health issues, long waits, you get the idea

Transactual put out a survey and received responses from 1183 trans folks. A very diverse group when it came to gender identities, ethnic identities and age groups (but with a slight over representation of white and younger trans folks)
2/18
According to the research, fewer then 1 in 10 respondents who had been referred to a GIC after 2018 had yet to have a first appointment.
Multi year waits were common for first appointments
Making this thread in the hope that people who know their stuff can set me right
But…
The equality act has 9 protected characteristics. Sex and gender reassignment are 2 of them.
So many say gender reassignment conflicts with sex but…
Don’t trans people have a sex?
1/8
In lots of ehrc documents and releases, they repeatedly point towards alleged conflicts between gender reassignment and sex under the equality act..
But why is it seemingly written that trans people aren’t also covered by the sex characteristic as well?
2/8
In the United States, their federal legal framework around this basically works on that transphobic discrimination comes under the ‘sex’ protected chatacteristic in their civil rights act.
Keir Starmer has given an interview to Justine Roberts, the founder of parenting and anti trans message board Mumsnet.
Here is everything Keir Starmer said about trans topics to Mumsnet.
1/17
Responding to a question about trans youths and the cass review, Starmer said: “…and I feel very strong about…that children shouldn’t be making these very important decisions without consent to their parents, I say that as a matter of principle as a parent…
2/17
“We all know what it’s like with teenage children and, I feel very strongly about this that…this argument children make decisions without the parents is one I just don’t agree with at all”
The UK Government has, for years, indirectly been claiming that birth certificates (and changing them) can enable sexual assaults.
They might (emphasis on MIGHT) do the same thing to the equality act soon.
A thread.

For years and years anti trans activists have sold the idea that allowing trans women (specifically trans women most of the time anyway) into places can endanger others
There is no decent evidence for this being true ON PLANET EARTH. But whatever…that is for another time

And after years of lobbying (with tremendous assistance from the national press, certain media outlets and fuckheads) Liz Truss, as women’s and equalities minister, started to say things that were VERY farmiliar
All the same lines about ‘safety’ as the anti trans activists
Suella Braverman is the home secretary that has been widely accused of enabling what has been described as an "internment camp" or even a "concentration camp" by some. After this, a man fire bombed a Border Force Migration Centre

The Manston Centre in Kent is one of a few places where those who come here seeking asylum are processed. After, they are to be moved to accommodations (a hotel) and be given the right to leave.
The capacity has been reported to be 1600 people on a short term basis.
2/15
According to various reports and a deluge of sources within government, Suella Braverman allegedly refused to sign off on moving these people on to the accommodations because she wanted to save money.
But what has shaken out is that this forced the centre to detain people
