/ Over this past weekend, I made the tough decision to resign from Twitter. Originally, my last day was going to be Nov. 25, but now it’s today. So I’m going to share w. all of you what I shared w. the remaining teams at Twitter earlier this week. A love letter:
/ Eleven years ago, I was debating between two jobs — one that was an obvious progression of title and money, the other was Twitter, a far riskier proposition.
/I took the job at Twitter because I thought I would get better stories out of the experience.
I was right. 😂
/And no, I’m not talking about the past few weeks. I’m talking about being thrown into rooms I never thought I’d enter and in front of people I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d get to meet. Learning how to hire quickly and hire well. Learning the fine art of focus.
/Learning the ceremony and rituals of doing business in Japan. That one time in Saudi Arabia. That one time in France. In Dallas. In Turkey. In London. In Rio. In Seattle. In Seoul. On the roof and in the stadium. And so many more spaces and places.
/Seeing all of the different ways to solve a problem. But mostly learning from watching all of my incredible, amazing teammates. My stories are filled w. your names and faces.
/To my teams in Canada, Miami, Mexico and Brazil: turning around the region w. all of you these past few years has been an honor. You’ve worked so hard.
