In light of the GA lawsuit over SOS Raffensperger's latest decision to prohibit early in-person on Saturday, Nov 26, in advance of the Dec 6 runoff election, it might be worthwhile to post who actually votes on Saturdays in GA elections. This is from a paper with Michael Herron.
There are eight panels in Fig 1, one per election. Each panel is labeled with a year and an election type and contains seven points, which represent days of the week.
Points that fall on 45-degree lines denote days of the week on which, in a given election, Black and White percentages of EIP votes are identical. Points above a line denote days in which White voters cast disproportionately many EIP votes, and points below, the opposite.
As of this morning in FL, 32.5% of all registered Ds have voted EIP or VBM; that's 4.5 percentage points _less_ than Rs. Only 20.2% of NPAs have turned out so far. Outstanding domestic/non-military VBM ballots have to arrive by 7pm tomorrow.
In past GEs, Election Day GOTV has favored Rs in FL. I don't see any indication of it being different tomorrow. But if it is, I we'll know pretty early on, as it will inevitably result in long lines in some traditionally D strongholds.
Let's turn to turnout by race/ethnic categories according to the voter file...
Nearly 36% of registered white voters in FL have cast ballots in advance of ED, with two days of VBM still to be counted.
Turnout of registered Black voters is 23% and it's 22% for Hispanic voters.
Nearly 16,200 VBM ballot return envelopes have been flagged with a problem as of this morning in FL. That's almost 0.7% of all VBM ballots received by SOEs so far. Voters have until Thursday at 5pm to file a VBM cure affidavit with their SOE.
Rejection rates for Republicans and Democrats are nearly identical. No Party Affiliates have a rejection rate of nearly 1%.
VBM rejection rate of Other race/ethnicity > Hispanics > Blacks > Whites.
