When I was transferred to Sales in 2012, I encountered a problem of leakages. Bcos the company sold drinks in tetra packs, leakages were a huge problem. The company would replace all leakages for the distributors based on how many the account managers would report.
I took over from a colleague who was managing 2 Distributors. Distributor A had average of N1.2m leakages per month (ave mthly turnover was 6m in 2011). Distributor B had about N3.6m leakages.
Add to that the delay in reimbursement from the Company and my work was cut out for me
Imagine my surprise when I noticed that actual monthly leakages were actually in the neighborhood of N60-70k for each distributor.
After my first 4 months of reporting a total of less than a million for both distros, I got a mail from Audit basically wondering if I was doing a
good job with records. Cos how can they have been getting about N4m of claims for both distributors before now?
I remembered at my very first meeting with the regional team. I was told point-blank that they know I was sent to spy on their activities. That's when the audit mail
made sense.
Here I was, thinking I was doing a good job saving the Company money and all, but those I met in the region were opposed to my honest reporting.
One of my colleagues announced to us that he'd be commissioning an 18-unit self-contained mini-estate soon. They clapped.
But I knew where the money came from. And I became persona non grata for my stauch refusal to play the same game.
It became apparent to audit team that the people I met on the field had been robbing the Company blind. But I was able to thereby gain the trust of both my distros.
So much so that Distro A who'd had N72m turnover FY2011 closed 2016 with >N1bn turnover 2016, just five years later.
I moved from covering only a suburb in Abuja to controlling the entire Abuja and Nasarawa.
This is what Peter Obi is facing right now. He saved the govt money
thereby showing us that other governors are clearly not doing enough, or worse, are stealing from their people.
But with a man like Peter Obi, growth is the only realistic outcome of his approach. He has the people's trust, and detractors fail to realise that their actions to
sully his name & accomplishments only reinforce our commitment to his brand of good competent, character-driven governance.
Peter Obi is where my vote goes.
Because in addition to the above, he doesn't have the undesirable baggage the others come with.
Eph. 5:19 KJV
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Spiritual songs = Christian doctrine with a tune.
All songs we sing as believers should be doctrinally sound, consistent with Bible truths.
There's no point being emotional when singing when the song doesn't make meaning to your spirit. Guard your heart with all diligence, the Bible says.
A few examples that come to mind right this minute...
Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up Lord
Come and quench this thirsting of my
soul
Bread of heaven, fill me TILL I WANT NO MORE
Fill my cup, fill it up AND MAKE ME WHOLE
At what point do we have enough of God that we want no more?
Bend low, bend low,
Bend low, bend low
And see what the Lord can do?
And as You speak
A hundred billion creatures catch
1 Corinthians 14:20 KJV
20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
Forgiveness is one issue where we mature by being childlike. And there's a big diff btw "childlike" & "childish."
Unfortunately, our adulting makes it difficult to know and understand forgiveness the way a child does. Our mind is not blank, nor can it be. Our memory may be our biggest enemy when it comes to forgiveness; it keeps a mental snapshot of every incident, and some go into our long
term memory
This is why many Christians don't understand forgiveness, and therefore why it's difficult for us to give it and to receive it, with people and with God.
You see, God forgives the same way children do. The Bible often uses nature to teach us spiritual realities.
Because of the highly fetish natural historic culture of Africa, spiritual warfare is largely misunderstood. Lack of education was a hindrance to Christians being able to divorce mental ideas from Biblical truth.
A red cloth and white feather produces
more trepidation and wonder than a preacher on the street. An old woman who frowns at you is seen as more dangerous than the man of God.
Recently, someone told me someone at his workplace told him he would deal with him at night. He was worried about what fetish power the guy
might have.
When it comes to spiritual warfare, a lot of believers think the battle is against witches, wizards, demons, etc. This is not entirely true. This is what the Bible says.
Even though you are human, your fight is not physical, and your weapons are not physical. The
In Acts 23, Paul was standing before the Council and he made a bold claim. He said, "I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day."
Essentially, he was saying that the charges against him were false. The high priest
Ananias was so offended that he commanded them that stood by Paul to strike him on the mouth. Paul responded by cursing the priest.
Those who had struck him then asked him how dare he speak thus to the high priest. Paul explained that he didn't know that was the
high priest, because he knows what the Hebrew Law says. Let's read it.
Acts 23:5 KJV
5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.
I discovered something really interesting this morning. I bet you've heard the statement "He MAKES everything beautiful in his time." Not many people realise that this is not what the Bible says.
Eccl 3:11 KJV
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time...
Catch that?

See again.
Eccl 3:11 KJV
11 He HATH MADE every thing beautiful in his time...
vs 1 of this chapter says every thing has an appointed time for its manifestation (paraphrase). Juxtapose it with vs 11 and we find that God has already determined everything that will be, and set
2/
a time for it to happen. He has already done this. Basically, everything is happening according to the timeline God has ordained for it to happen. And because of this, it is beautiful in God's eyes.
You, for example, were born at God's appointed time. Your time was God's

About Predestination and Freewill. It's a long #thread y'all.
Is freewill is really a thing? After all, if God supposedly has everything planned out, and has predetermined every outcome, are my choices really mine?
Please RT this thread. It will bless you and others. Thank you.
Let's start from 1 Jn 3:20
1 John 3:20 KJV
20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
See also Ps 147:5, Heb 4:13, Acts 1:24.
So, God knows all things. Let's take a brief look at 5 things God knows.
1. He knows everything that...
happens in the universe. Job 28:24, Pro. 15:3, etc.
2. He knows our thoughts, can read our minds & motives. 1 Chro. 28:9, Ps. 44:21, Jer. 17:9-10
3. God knows the future. Ps. 139:16, Isa. 41:21-24
4. God knows the what-ifs, the unltd possible scenarios in every situation...
