7 wounds of #Kharkiv. Part 4
On March 2, the russians launched a missile attack on the Palace of Labor building in the very heart of Kharkiv, not far from the city administration building. #KharkivWalks 1/
The monumental building of the Palace of Labor was built in 1916, it survived the WWII and became a concentration of offices and retail premises. Unfortunately, because of the russians, now this is a concentration of rubble, the removal of which began in June. #KharkivWalks 2/
In April, @s_vakarchuk, the leader of the Okean Elzy group, presented a video for the song "Obiymy" against the backdrop of the dilapidated building of the Palace of Labor in #Kharkiv. 3/3 #KharkivWalks

7 wonders of #Kharkiv. Part 6
The Sviato-Uspensky (Dormition) Cathedral. This cathedral, together with The Annunciation Cathedral & The Pokrovsky Cathedral, which I wrote about earlier, form the “golden triangle” of cathedrals in Kharkiv. 1/ #KharkivWalks

The modern building of the cathedral was built in 1771-1777 with donations from parishioners, and the first mention of the cathedral dates back to 1657, when a wooden church was first built on this site. 2/ #KharkivWalks
The Oleksandrivska bell tower, located next to the cathedral, was built in 1844 and until 2006 was the tallest building in #Kharkiv. Its height is 89.5 meters and it is the second highest bell tower in Ukraine. 3/ #KharkivWalks
🧵Recently, I have become more followers, so I decided to briefly tell about myself.
My name is Iryna and I'm from Kharkiv 🇺🇦. Russians are destroying my hometown, so I had to leave home and go to Vinnytsia until Kharkiv will be safe again.
In June, my parents and I were in a terrible car accident. I had a broken cervical spine, a dislocation of a vertebra and a ruptured intervertebral disc. My mother had two broken legs, an arm, a hand, a nose, and she had a concussion. Luckily my dad wasn't hurt.
In July, I underwent a surgical operation, during which titanium structures were installed in front and behind the broken vertebra. My mother also had surgery on her leg and arm.
