In late September 1963, Sylvia Odio was visited at home in Dallas by three men, one of whom was introduced as "Leon Oswald". When President John F Kennedy was assassinated in that city two months later, she realised this individual was Lee Harvey Oswald...#CIAKilledJFK

Her other visitors were right-wing Cubans, who over the course of a 20 minute conversation conducted largely in Spanish told Sylvia they were friends of her father, then-imprisoned in Cuba, and "Leon Oswald" might joing the anti-Castro resistance movement....#CIAKilledJFK

The very next day, one of her Cuban visitors telephoned to say "Leon Oswald" was a "kind of nuts" former Marine and crack marksman who thought President Kennedy should've been killed after the failed CIA-orchestrated Bay of Pigs invasion #CIAKilledJFK

Their visit was confirmed by Sylvia's sister, present at the time (who *also* recognised Oswald on TV). Sylvia also referred to it contemporaenously to multiple sources, and she was reluctant to publicise it post 11/22/1963. It only came to authorities' attention by happenstance.

The story posed several problems to the official narrative. Why and how was Oswald, the Communist lone nut assassin, chumming round with other violent actors, let alone anti-Castro fighters? But more importantly, he was meant to be in Mexico City when this meeting occurred...

Oswald went there to secure visas from the Cuban and Soviet consulates. Yet, despite the CIA photographing every entry and exit to both and their phone lines being tapped, evidence of LHO's 's presence provided to the FBI of his presence there was judged by Hoover to be false.

Despite Sylvia Odio being judged to be highly credible by Warren Commission investigators, Commission General Counsel J Lee Rankin buried her story on the basis, "we're supposed to be closing doors, not opening them." Which is in keeping with the November 25th Katzenbach memo...

Nonetheless, the House Select Committee on Assassinations "was inclined to believe" Sylvia, and found her testimony "essentially credible", concluding there was a "strong probability" that one of her visitors "was or appeared to be" Oswald. Yet, "no conclusion" was drawn.
