1. This morning’s Supreme Court decision brings long awaited legal clarity. Dismissing the UK’s gov argument that it couldn’t rule on the matter, the Court certified that in the absence of Westminster’s approval the Scottish Parliament can't pass legislation for a new #IndyRef
2. They argue that even in advisory ref a “clear expression" of the Scottish electorate "would strengthen or weaken the democratic legitimacy of the Union”. Court didn’t comment on the fact that Scottish electorate has voted for new #indyref clearly and repeatedly since Brexit
3. By the Court's argument, each and any of those elections already weakened the “democratic legitimacy of the Union”. Truth is that the longer Westminster deny Scotland a choice, the weaker the democratic legitimacy of the Union will be. Ball is now firmly in Westminster's court
4. How much longer should Scots be denied by UK gov their democratic right to choose their own future? Brexit must not be Scotland’s destiny. Europeans will always keep a light on for Scotland. The fight is not over but rest assured: Scotland is not alone in it.
5. Tonight we will bring European solidarity to Scotland in Rome, Paris, Dublin, Berlin, Munich and Brussels. The fight is not over but rest assured: Scotland is not alone in it.
