I instruct an upper-year undergraduate course on Healthy Aging at @queensu - for one of the assignments, students were asked to create an infographic discussing a common myth about aging. I have permission to share some of the infographics with you... 1/7
This assignment was recommended by Dr. Stewart at @queensu. Students were asked to identify why the myth is harmful, use evidence to discuss why they are untrue and suggest ways to combat it. Here are a few examples: 2/7
Myth 1: Frailty is "inevitable"
Myth 2: older adults are not crucial members of society
Myth 3: Older adults should skip exercising to avoid injury
Myth 4: Aging always means being more isolated and alone
Myth 5: All older adults should skip strength-based exercise
I am so proud of all of the students in this class and their engagement in learning about healthy aging! Please help me in sharing these #myths and # stereotypes about #healthyaging so others can learn as well!
