What is the AAP liquor scam?

1. AAP executed a new liquor policy in 2021, completely privatising sales and distribution of liquor - previously run by Delhi govt.

2. Under the new policy, Delhi was divided into 32 zones and distribution rights were given exclusively to 27 cos
3. The new liquor policy, despite reduction in taxes, led to 27% increase in excise collection to 8.9k cr

Sounds good? A bit too good?

4. There were irregularities in awarding these contracts to 27 companies - cartelisation, tender rigging, discount of license fees (in lieu of
covid), refund of license fee in case unable to set up distribution channels, etc. which led to LG recommending CBI probe

5. If the policy was so good, then WHY was it rolled back so hastily?

6. Why isn't AAP defending the policy, instead of getting into political mud-slinging?

It's a section that is specifically made for charitable orgs. It has many advantages like exemption from income tax, stamp duty, etc ImageImage

Muslim owner caught raping minor girl today in MPs Gohalpur area by locals after hearing screams. She had gone there for mobile recharge.
Police were informed and man has been arrested. Girl's family initially hesitant to lodge complain have been helped by @yogeshDharmSena
