On Jain not getting proper food in jail: Mehra says as per his inform Jain didn't get proper food according to his religious belief last evening. They stopped nuts which were prescribed by doctors.

Mehra: 2-3 things they're saying.. Ask them read the rule that you can't go on an indefinite thing like that. Mehra now reading the relevant rule on fast on religious beliefs. At least right now we're not a country where we are told how to follow. A religion..

Mehra: This is not an indefinite fast where someone is force fed... It is upto Mr Jain to decide when he breaks his fast... #SatyendarJain

Mehra: 16th and 17th November fruits and vegetables were not available in the jail canteen. There are 20k prisoners in jail. How entire machinery is working that I dont get basic sustenance. And they're spreading false info by spreading videos. How bias can your approach be?

Mehra: It's not like these articles are coming from outside....By showing the cctv footage they're trying to portray me as I am not. They're trying to create pressure which comes inside the courtroom and orders are not passed. #SatyendarJain

Mehra: Please ask them. Is there a beauty parlour inside jail? Yes? Please ask the officer. He is here. Can someone take a message in jail? Yes? I have had surgeries. I have been advised physiotherapy. #SatyendarJain

Mehra: Now they're saying they don't have (recent) footage. They showed one from September. Now when the court asked they don't have it. When ED wanted they had it. Now they say they have deleted. This is the prejudice. #SatyendarJain

Mehra: State should be large hearted not petty. They can provide the 4 nuts that are prescribed and fruits and vegetables. #SatyendarJain

Jail counsel Abhijit Shankar: First of all he is observing a particular fast which he didn't inform about to jail authorities. #SatyendarJain

Shankar shows a list of vegetables which are cooked for 20k prisoners. Just because he can't go to a Jain temple...he is saying walnuts, etc not provided... Fruits and vegetables if anyone wants they can take from the jail canteen. #SatyendarJain

Shankar: Let me show you a pattern. How intelligently it is done. August 26 he stopped buying anything. He used the card of another inmate to buy things. We are conducting an inquiry into it. We have identified that prisoner. #SatyendarJain

Shankar: We have never provided fruits or vegetables.
Judge: Are you providing or not?
Shankar: We never provide. It is taken.
Mehra: Helping a co inmate is an offence. #SatyendarJain

Shankar: Dry fruits not allowed to anyone. Provided only when medical officer allows it or in cases of foreigners when embassy writes it.

Shankar: Just because you're not taking proper nutritious food, there's an alternate given but it can't go on forever. There are kidney, liver hazards too. #SatyendarJain

Shankar: Mr Jain is having only 2 meals one in the morning and lunch not after sunset. #SatyendarJain

Shankar: High-level committee comprising principal secretaries law, home and vigilance on orders of Lieutenant Governor inquiring into allegations of him being given preferential treatment #SatyendarJain

Judge: If someone informs jails authorities that i belong to a particular religion and i need particular food what's the protocol? Will you permit special food?
Shankar: no. He can take fruits and vegetables if he wants to.

Mehra: Rules says they "shall"
Judge: Suppose single persons observe a fast. Will you give?
Shankar: No. If we do it for one person then the next day 200 people will start doing it.
Mehra: It's good. They will get healthy.

Mehra: Please call for all jail records of Mr Satyendar Jain. There can be a situation where it is doctored. #SatyendarJain
