Democrats stayed off a Republican landslide. They may loose the House, but they’ve won significant governor races & can hold the Senate. Imagine what they could do if they fully committed to reach poor & low wealth voters.
Extremism won’t have a chance if the freedom & democracy we fight for & present to the 80 million plus poor & low-wage voters is freedom & democracy that stands against voter suppression & political violence; against policies that entrench poverty & blocks living wages…
against denying healthcare; against politicians who try to control a woman’s body and who we love; against corporate greed and environmental devastation.

The Governor is trying to blame the city for the problems & that’s a trick!

The truth is the city of Jackson was ill equipped because resources have been taken for years as Mayor Chokwe Lumumba stated.
In order to fix this we have to work together. It’s going to take solidarity, it’s going to take pressure. It’s going to take federal intervention that will free the land, clean the water, and make sure it’s owned by the people of Jackson, MS!

I’m joining a diverse group of clergy to announce my endorsement of @CheriBeasleyNC’s US Senate campaign today. When I look at the policy commitments of Beasley vs Budd, the choice is clear to me.
Budd has voted against living wages, expansions of health care, union rights, & pro-family policies. He has worked to undermine policies that would lift most North Carolinians, & he lies and says he’s defending so-called ‘traditional values.’
Each person must make their own decision, but I want to be clear about mine. Too much is at stake to be silent while extremists use God’s name to say so much about what God said so little while saying so little about what God said so much.
