Fought for Ukraine to the last breath: the story of the Captain-Hero of "Cosmos"

Andrey Norov was born on June 6, 1977 in Kropyvnytskyi, received an economic education and since 2002 lived in Kyiv, worked and raised two children with his wife.

In 2016, Andrei went to serve on a contract basis in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - in the 72nd separate mechanized brigade. Defended Ukraine in the ATO and JFO, completed short-term officer courses.

As part of the 72nd Brigade, they fought for our freedom after a full-scale invasion. On the first day of the war, thanks to "Cosmos", the enemy suffered heavy losses - under his leadership, several helicopters, an infantry fighting vehicle, three trucks with /3

ammunition and a warehouse of invaders were destroyed.

"Cosmos" is the path from sergeant to captain, and there is no such place in any position of the battalion, wherever it is. He was always with the soldiers," his brothers say about him.

On March 5, 2022, Andrei Norov, deputy battalion commander for combat training, was awarded another military rank of "captain", and on March 13 he died a heroic death in battle, defending the Kiev region. /5

He died helping to take out the wounded: the column came under vile enemy fire.

The warrior was buried with all honors in his native Kropyvnytskyi.

For courage and heroism, Andriy Norov was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and the Order of the Gold Star.
