The moment I got off the stage, 18-20 armed gatka performing Nihangs surrounded me! Their first sentence (in Punjabi) was, “you may be a scholar, but what do you know about Sikh Dharm, why are you spreading ‘mithya’ how dare you call our gurus Hindu & bhakt of Devi?”

कहे तेग़ बहादुर सुनो,जो धर्म पर अडिग रहे वो बहादुर, मेरा हिंदू धर्म सर्वोच्च है जो दोनो जग में सुख देता है, मैं वो कैसे त्याग दूँ जो मुझे सबसे प्रिय है।

GurGobind Singh himself writes:
Sees diya par Sriru Na Diya.
सीस दिया, धर्म नहीं त्याग!
