So the twitter’s biggest lie but not-so-secret out in open. “Shadow banning” is officially known as “Visibility Filter (VF)”, enforced strategically against RWs voices, with letting them know, revealed #TwitterFiles2.
1/
Now twitter is coming up with a feature to let the user know if a/c is limited, then on which policy violations and how to appeal.
2/
Things may be moving after @elonmusk has taken over, but m still sure that this (VF) scenario is still active for Indian users. Twitter must look into policy enforcement team in India. The accounts are being permanent suspended for merely posting a funny GIF to a mutual.
3/
As per a screenshot shared in #TwitterFiles2 , twitter employees appear to have an access of your DM. So they may be (again, just may be) taking DM chats also into account while deciding your fate on twitter timelines.

If this tweet somehow make through to your TL, you can check the reach of this thread and my all tweets yesterday. Its way pathetic reach and can not be possible without tweaking in natural engagement.
Why The Wire sr. journo Arfa Sherwani cropped the sponsors' names in the "invitation" at Umass in her twitter and Facebook posts?
Anyway here are the names -
Indian American Muslim Council
Boston South Asia Coalition
Asian Studies Deptt
Political Science Deptt.
1/
On Facebook, Umass Boston History Deptt shared this post where sponsor's name can be seen. Arfa could have reshared this post or picture, but instead, a new post was created with cropped picture for reason best known to the sr. journalist.

By the way, UMass website 'event' doesn't show this event. May be not that important!
This is disinformation that world media fell for, including Indian msm. There is NO official announcement. This “disbanding morality police” is misinterpretation of Iranian AG’s statement. 1/
Iranian protesters are distressed by this news. Some says there is no exclusive Guard Police unit to be disbanded. Its a state run program. If you at all wants to move-on, you would uplift the hijab ban & other regressive laws, not just the monitoring.
2/
Also the protesters demanded to current regime to step down and reform the laws. Not sure exactly but NYT or CNN was the leading media houses which published this “disbanding” news prematurely, & rest of the world followed.
AIIMS cyber attack has exposed how secured these critical institutions’ web spaces are.
Its been 8 days and the system has not been restored completely.
1/
The experts and the anons of dark web highlighted many vulnerabilities in the system.
Apparently unknown staff member clicked on a link months ago at external unrelated websites (gaming etc) and allowed ransomeware inside system.
2/
They encrypted the main servers & other connected networks data for several months. (In simple words data is there but in unreadable locked format & they are having key to unlock it).
Though some media reported attackers have demanded ransom, officials are denying it.

Dear @PritishNandy, you might have written this tweet high on spirit, immediately after having the first sip of that expensive wine that your German friend gifted you last week, but let me tell you the spirit of people living in Dharavi is much higher than that.
That spirit of resiliency & entrepreneurship is that inherited characteristics, every Mumbaikar is born with. Let us belittle the people who live in Dharavi by compulsion but not by choice.
2/
They have all the rights like you and me to uplift there living standards in every aspects. For that matter you won’t like to take along your German friend on the visit of Dharavi to showcase him the ‘spirit’ of Mumbai, unless you have sadistic pleasure issues.

Palki Sharma touched the chords (in news/media industry):
- gender discrimination
- missing leadership
- lack of innovation
- poor risk appetite
- weak business model
- irrelevant contents
- uneven pay scale
- political biases
- toxic work place
As the (news) media has default ‘moral burden’ to appear like a suman human, this free wheeling conversation brought up human side of it- media ppl are also a mother, a father, a simple employee just like their viewers.
2/
These issues aren’t something heard first time but often discussed within the limitations of a corporate IT jobs. The fact that often ignored is, an employee of a modern media industry also goes through same struggle in pursuit of job satisfaction.
