#China is a territorial enemy of India & it keeps trying to violate India’s sovereignty by intruding at various places along our long border. But this has a deep history. This thread series on the Great Game will tell you how.
2. Hindus today might find it hard to believe, but India has been the greatest prize of any colonial power ever, long before the British came to dominate our geography. It has to do with our geography and the civilization that was built on that geography.
3. Central Asia, its mountains and plateaus, are one of the most critical geographical areas to hold all over the world. This is the reason that Pakistan grabbed Gilgit-Baltistan and China grabbed Aksai Chin and now tries to grab more mountainous areas from India.
4. All other great powers have understood the importance of Central Asian Mountains, steppes and valleys. For anyone having control of the pieces of Kashmir and Pamir alongside other regions north of Kashmir would be in an immensely profitable position.
5. This is why in history, regional powers such as China have fought fiercely for pieces of Central Asia such as Tibet, Sinkiang and Aksai Chin. That is why it keeps trying to claim and take Arunachal Pradesh.
6. But not just that, European powers like Russia, Britain, France, Germany & even Sweden have fought for pieces of land and influence in Central Asia. This series is a story of this rush for land and influence in Central Asia. And that story has a glorious name: the Great Game.
7. But before we embark on our journey of the Great Game or rather Great Games, for there were many, we need to analyze how the current situation came about. China before 1950 did not use to have a border with India.
8. To anyone who is privy to the pre-independence history of India it seems odd that China is actually venturing into India’s territory, because for most of our history China never had a border with India.
9. India bordered Tibet, Sinkiang and many nations in Central Asia, but never China. It was the great upheaval of the mid-20th century which suddenly brought China on India’s doors. And it benefitted from India’s folly.
10. This is a story of how great countries ignore geo-politics only at their own peril. And how that created a giant enemy at its own gates. This is story of all our faults and all the lessons that we can learn from it so we don’t repeat them again. Stay tuned.

1. Where #France once again stops the Arab (#Moroccan) Invasion of Europe
It turns out to be the fate of France to stop Morocco from winning #FIFA World Cup 2022.
More than 1200 years ago too, it was France which stopped the Umayyad (Islamic) invasion of Europe. This is how.
2. After the death of the Prophet, under the leadership of Caliph Umar, the Arab armies had broken upon Persia, Byzantium, Egypt and then continued conquering and converting new countries to #Islam until Morocco. But they were not to stop there.
3. In 711 the Muslim armies invaded and conquered the Iberian peninsula comprising Spain and Portugal within seven years. The march of Islam seemed unstoppable. They had not just taken northern Africa and Western Asia, but had conquered a huge kingdom of Europe.
1. There is nothing African about Moroccan identity. It has only one identity – Islamic. It plays the Moroccan card to get social security for its people in Spain. It plays the African card to get European aid.
2. Africans, as in the black Africans are treated miserably in Morocco. Anti-black racism is rampant there and racial hierarchy in their society is very palpable. Arabs rule; Berbers live like second class citizens. Even mix blood gets you second-class status.
3. Race and slavery in the Middle-east is an open secret. During the middle ages, Moroccan pirates, along with Algerian, Tunisian and Turkish pirates would patrol Mediterannean coast for slave raids in which they would capture Christian slaves.
Four days ago, when #Morocco achieved a shock win over #Spain in penalty shoot-out, the myth of ‘local Islam’ was busted. Muslims of Spain, just like anywhere else, came out on streets all over Spain to celebrate Morocco’s victory.
2. This is because Islam does not recognize national boundaries. Geographical barriers are for non-Muslims.
For Muslims, the only true boundary is Muslims vs. non-Muslims. A non-Muslim next door is an enemy. A Muslim ten thousand kilometers away is a friend.
3. For them the division is between Dar-ul Harb (the land of non-Muslims) and Dar-ul Islam (the land of Muslims). It is the sacred duty of Muslims to convert Dar-ul Harb into Dar-ul Islam. Those Muslims who live in other countries firmly believe in this quest.
2. The luckiest thing that ever happened to me in life, was to land at the lotus feet of my guru, at the age of just eighteen, right at the cusp of the millennium. He put me on the path of dharma, in life and in work, ever since then.
And I never looked back.
3. My guru said that I had to serve dharma and that the right time had come. And I knew it to be the only reality. 18 is the age to be naïve. A practical mind would have thought a thousand times before plunging lifelong into the movement. Not the naïve me.
1. It was not just Shraddha's fault. Our society, our families and the parents of our generation prepared girls like Shraddha for this end by stuffing them with secularism, anti-Hindu liberalism and the poison of 'sarva-dharma-samabhava'.
2. We prepared them to become lambs while we knew were facing the wolves.
3. We told them to ignore everything and have fun, when we knew we should have prepared them for the battle.
