2. The percentage of long-term care facilities reporting #flu outbreaks has also dropped off a little, which is a very good piece of news.
3. The bad news: 14 more children have died from #influenza this #flu season. The deaths occurred over the past 6 weeks but were reported to @CDCgov last week. So far this season 61 kids have died from flu. An awful toll, but still low compared to most pre-Covid years.
4. #Flu activity is declining in many parts of the country, notably the Southeast, where activity first started this year. The map on the right is for week 51 (last week); there's less purple and blood red than in week 47 (left), when the season may have peaked.
5. @CDCgov says so far this season there've been about 20 million illnesses, 210K hospitalizations, & 13,000 deaths from #flu. Despite starting very early & having a sharp peak, this could turn out to be a moderate flu season.
