गायत्री साधना एवं गायत्री पूजा
Mantra-vidya is really the science of thought. The world has come from the thought of God. It emerged into gross form by the projection of His word Om. Om is Veda or knowledge of God. It is nada or sound. one can see that mantra, nāda and Veda are all inter-linked.
The Veda-s are full of mantra-s of great thought-powers which have come from nāda o'r sound. every mantra has a particular nada or sound intonation. If the intonation is not known, the mantra may not yield the full result.
1. Avahana, invoking God.
2. Asana (Here it means welcoming God to take His seat in the image or the symbol which we worship); esoterically, it is the offering of one's heart as the throne or seat.
3. Padya, washing the feet of the symbol. Here the water offer
is devotion to the feet of God.
4. Arghya, the offering of water to the hands of God, is offering oneself to the hands of God.
5. Acamana, offering pure water for sipping.
6. Snäna, ceremonial bathing with milk, sugar, honey, and water.
7. Vastra is the offering of new and
beautiful clothes and wrapping them around the image. This means donning one- self with divine wisdom and living in the world untainted by passion.
8. Upavita, the offering of the sacred thread, which means to be filled with pure thoughts.
9. Vilepana is besmearing the
supraphysical body of God with musk, red powder, and sandalwood paste.
10. Puspa is offering flowers, which means offering our heart.
11. Dhupa is the burning of incense, which is really the burning of sins by the fire of wisdom.
12. Dipa is the wick light, which is kept or waved before the holy symbol of God. This is the act of burning the egoistic mind and karma.
13. Naivedya is the offering of food, which is offering of great mantra or prayers.
14. Pradaksina-namaskara, perambulation and salutation.
15. Mantrapuspa, offering flowers and red rice for world peace.
16. Sayya is the offering of the most beautiful bed to God to rest. It means offering our pure heart to God and praying to Him to make our heart His abode..

If looked at realistically, the Hindu Navsamvatsar (Hindu New Year) alone is scientific. Other calendars of the world, are both incomplete and unscientific. Hindu New Year begins on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. Being the first
day of the year this is very significant. According to Brahmapurana.
