You know what, since it's been in my feed a lot lately; let's talk about US Laws, Bestiality, and Zoophilia.

- Thread.

#zoopride #zoopositivity #zoosexuality #zoophilia #furry #therian #bestiality #zootwt
To start, Zoophilia is LEGAL, EVERYWHERE in the United States.

Zoophilia, more apt Zoosexuality, is the psychological manifestation of an attraction [sexual, romantic] to animals. It is IMPOSSIBLE for it to be illegal, that would be thought crime.
BESTIALITY, the physical act of sex with an animal, does not, and oft. IS NOT associated with Zoosexuality / Zoophilia, you can be a 'normie' and have sex with an animal.

The legality, punishment, and processing of Bestial interaction depends on WHERE you live in the US.
There are even legal states in the US that do not have anti-bestiality laws. These states may resort to a technique called creative prosecution though. Citing some other law or implication in a case to try and get an animal cruelty conviction.
Now the myths, the 'Bestiality was federally illegal since the 50s' nonsense.

This is something called the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). This ONLY applies to military persons in a branch of the US Armed Forces NOT civilians.
This is the ONE instance of there being a Federal Law / code / statute in place against Bestiality, and it's a very specific one that applies abroad and at home, as well as US territories (think Guam, Puerto-Rico).

The UCMJ is handled differently than civilian law.
Second myth, PACT.

PACT makes no mention of simple Bestial acts in it's definitions. This is a law that was targeted at specific realms of Zoosadism for monetary gain or sexual purposes.

The problem with PACT is it doesn't even stop abuse, or many abusive cases.
There are many exceptions in the PACT law for hunting and sport, religious barbarism, and barbaric veterinary practices. Or if it's a 'standard practice to euthanize an animal'.

PACT is complete hot garbage and just an attempt for some suit-wearers in DC to look good.
The same can be said with the states' individual Bestiality laws, ranging from a simple fine to a felony charge; and with no mention of nuanced harm of any type in some of them.

A lot of these laws still cite 'crime against nature' as their only defining stance.
This hearkens to the concept of "not everything legal is good, and not everything illegal is bad".

So how can we fix these laws? We can start by making them more uniform, and getting individual jurisdictions on the same page.
The next way we can fix the laws is nuance. Actually studying and asking the question of what constitutes harm, was there harm done, and making very clear definitions of harm involved in an individual case.
Your everyday Zoosexual like myself, would never harm anyone in a bestial act.

However, someone like Kero for instance, or an old hat in the 'Zoo community', Moose, may do just that.

Of course, same for Zoosadists like DogDude / Timwin, and SnakeThing.
Here's the problem, without question I'd be treated the same as that lot of individuals who'd definitely not think twice about harming, when I allow my partner full control and moral right to agency.
Thus, you have a two-bit, ad-hoc, moral-panic, and virtue-signal law that doesn't stop, curb, or remove abusive situations. It AMPLIFIES them.

Why / how?
Simple, non-abusers can't easily, and safely come forward without putting themselves at risk, a more 'vigilante' approach has to be used.

All cases of bestiality are not the same, and should not be treated the same.
To those who do treat a partner abusively, exploit, or cause quite tangible bodily or mental harm: they should suffer a STIFFER sentence, akin to human sexual exploitation and abuse.

THEY are a lot more like us than we give them credit for, after all.
So how can you be safe? Simple.

Do not make, share, or consume large amounts of Bestial pornography, especially under a known name. Do not use porn to 'show your love'. Do not allow any identifying characteristics in photos or videos.

Porn is sex, porn is not love.
When you spot abusive content in a group, or sent from an individual, make the community immediately aware of said group / community member's actions, and hold them to account / question on the matter.

If you know enough, and the individual is displaying truly abusive content..
Try to file some anonymous tips, ot get help in reporting the person to the proper authorities, as well as cutting community ties and ensuring they don't continue to pedal abusive content.
I think that about covers it for now. If you have any questions, details, or corrections; let me know.
