Can anyone explain why a "secular" state funds Muslim clerics?

There is no secularism like this anywhere else in the world. Hindus have been made a fool of in India.
The answer is simple. India is a religious apartheid state.

Indian “secularism” exists to serve #ChristoIslamic propagation.

The salary is paid by "Waqf Boards" which are funded and supported by the State.

Very cleverly, any "shortfall" is borne by the central and state government. And since you don't want to "penalize" those Waqf Boards which are efficient, provide State grants to *all* boards.
In Sep 2014 the Centre promulgated a scheme for "Strengthening of State Waqf Boards" to give additional money than that given by the State governments.

Govt sets aside funds to remove "encroachments" from Waqf Properties while Hindu temple properties are encroached by the state.
These Crores of funds are in addition to those that the Center provides to non-Hindus (after checking their religion) under various schemes, while the State literally robs and confiscates the offerings of Hindu temples (and taxes them) and encroaches and sells of temple land.
If I read this table right, most State Waqf Boards were already in a surplus (total expenditure of 3387 lakhs vs revenue of 3625 lakhs), before state govts' grant-in-aid of additional grants of 877 lakhs, *before* the Center "strengthening" them further with more taxpayer money.
The document I'm quoting from is from the Ministry of Minority affairs website, the most capable ministry of the Modi govt.

The “Phule bought education” story is a lie just like “lower caste women in Kerala couldn’t cover their breasts and had to pay breast tax.”

These lies are deliberately created and spread for the conversion agenda.
Yes, this is fiction. "Upper caste women", even queens, did not cover their breasts.

When colonized Indian men started forcing women in Kerala to cover up, the women protested this is a *restriction.* Later the story was turned on its head.

And @FeminismInIndia is an Islamist account. Check when these "feminists" last tweeted against Islamic patriarchy. They blocked me when I outed them.

This is the society that Indian “progressives” and McDesis want us to copy.

They see some Hollywood dramas and think that’s what life in America is and it’d be so cool to copy.
The attack on and devaluing of men as an important part of the family unit also has real implications.

“Free sex” means the father has less incentive to stick around. Children from fatherless households are the most at risk.
I don’t think we can reverse the sexual revolution happening in India; the important thing is to be aware that the “progressive” pipe-dream often leads to a nightmare society and personal situations.

This way one can be balanced and sensible about one’s own life choices.

Good question.

1. Cultivate friends and family networks who notice and will be there for you.
2. Exercise, go for a walk or run
3. Do yoga and pranayama
4. Learn Sudarshan Kriya which studies have found is as effective as depression medication with far fewer side-effects.
And avoid antidepressant fixes, as much as you can. Yes, in some cases drugs may be needed.

Not in “many cases.” In fee rare cases. Their own studies show that antidepressants are significantly better than Placebo in only 15% of cases with numerous side effects.

Stop medicating people on behalf of big pharma.

So her husband was cheating on her and she was depressed… and you gave her psychiatric medicines? What medicine did you give the husband?
(And did you get her addicted to the medicines like the husband’s whiskey?)
Sorry, appeal to authority won't work here. There is a serious problem with opioid addiction as well as psychiatric medication addiction and withdrawal issues.

And I'm sure you're aware that the serotonin theory of depression, which leds to billions of $s of prescription medication is now under a cloud. Do they teach about the pharma industry and its manipulation of research for $ in med school?

The Supreme Court of India does not know that it is not the job of the #SupremeCourtOfIndia to make laws.
This court today is a colonial court which has it legacy in the British Raj and is unwilling to let go of its power over the heathen brown savages.

This is the classic Indian elite argument against democracy. People's elected representative are ignorant savages. Therefore we need an English-speaking elite dictatorship to overrule them.
