I am firmly in camp “Why The Fuck Should It Bother Me If Anyone Else Wants to Identify as Trans.”

Everyone who disagrees - from Rufo’s school board stormtroopers to Queen Rowling herself - has conflated the existence of trans people into some kind of attack on the rest of us.
Anti-trans feminists (aka TERFs) insist that any recognition of trans women is an “attack” on cis women’s rights.

The “bathroom bills” presume that trans women using public restrooms are “attacks” on cis women’s privacy.

What culture warriors fear the most about growing acceptance of LGBT is that their children will be affected, that their son or daughter will feel comfortable identifying as gay or trans. To them, these children would never dream such a thing if they were not “groomed” into it.
That’s really the engine behind “It’s so trendy nowadays” and “What if they’re rushing into it?” What they mean is that gender transition shouldn’t happen, full stop. They don’t want adults to do it, condone it, or even talk about it in front of children.
