Omigawd @michaeldweiss I’m 13 paragraphs in to this amazing report, and all I can think about is Peter Lorre in “Silk Stockings” lol. Siberi-ya… lol
At its best, however, “Some Aspects” functions as a kind of unintentional satire on work culture in liberal democracies—Pravda meets Office Space—as well as a how-to guide for exploiting the emotional vulnerabilities of people who feel they deserve more in life.—@michaeldweiss 🙀
FREUDIAN PROJECTION
“People who overestimate their worth and claim special treatment,” the manual tells us, “have an insatiable need for success and recognition. When their career collapses..the despair and rage (make them) capable at that moment of taking the path of revenge.”
Much of Soviet and now Russian intelligence work is Freudian projection: doing what you accuse the enemy of having done first and then perfecting it. The Chekists wanted to study how we went about undermining them, the better to use what they thought were our own sinister tricks.

I just made the most gorgeous Yorkshire puddings, creamy vegan sweet potatoes, and my world famous stuffed krabby mushrooms, and in my warm and sweet-smelling home, I am thinking of friends in Ukraine without heat and lights but with the will to fight Putin and I’m giving thanks.
