The #RCAF really need these upgrades and additional CH-149 Cormorant helicopters.
Because a Top Aces LearJet that's been used for CF-18 Hornet intercept exercises flew from the West Coast to Halifax over the past few days (C-GTXE #C0792F #BRUSR02), and a CH-149 Cormorant has deployed to Iqaluit, I suspect a #NORAD exercise is immanent.

Just to wrap it in a bow, remember this morning when I said there was a CC-177 Globemaster III that flew to #3WingBagotville? Well, they flew to #FOLIqaluit today as #CFC4093, strongly suggesting an immanent #NORAD / CF-188 Hornet exercise.

A little bird told me that 177702 was headed for Malaysia, per the High Commission of Canada in Malaysia, who posted it to Facebook.

So, that's #OpMANTIS 9/2023? 🤔

#OpMANTIS, since 2015. It looks like #CANSOFCOM has again decided to assume a largely passive public affairs posture. They're really quite intent to make other people tell their story, and not tell anyone anything themselves.

🇨🇦 Here's the distribution of the Canadian-registered Top Aces Alpha Jet fleet. I took the superset of everything registered to them, worked back to 2022-09-01, identified everything that's flown in that time, and flagged those that haven't flown in a month+. Image

(+5 haven't flown in over a month)

The idea is, if they haven't flown in over a month, they may be going through some maintenance; or not, I can't tell. 🤷‍♂️
What's this good for? If you follow Top Aces fighters, you follow where Canadian Forces training is being performed. 🍿

While this article is 5 years old, and likely out of date regarding the operations that are being carried out from Keflavik 🇮🇸, it makes it clear to me that the "rotational" deployments of large numbers of #USNavy P-8A Poseidon and #RCAF CP-140 Aurora aircraft are a #NATO mission
It's also clear that #RCAF and #USNavy operations out of NAS Keflavik 🇮🇸 and NAS Sigonella 🇮🇹 are related, it's basically the same mission, the only difference is #Keflavik surges when the Russian Navy is brining a submarine through the GIUK gap, making a very obvious tell for us
In 2022 the #RCAF deployed to #Keflavik and different bases in the UK several times for patrols of the GIUK gap, with different CP-140 Aurora Block IV aircraft which seem quite popular.

However, the Gov't of Canada won't talk about it, nor will #NATO Public Affairs.

If the person in charge was trying to be nice they would have sent something comfortable, like a CC-150 Polaris... did they? Let's look.

I checked back to 2022-11-01, and of course not; these are the elite Canadian ninjas of CANSOFCOM, they don't need to be comfortable.

Let's see if they stuffed them on the back of a CC-177 Globemaster III with their gear.

If you used the Moments I made, tracking entire categories of planes, you better bookmark them or save the links elsewhere before they're gone. I used these all the time. Elon continues to work hard to remove useful features and drive content creators away from Twitter.

Interesting; DND is using 9H-TQ #4D2372, I will need to look up the contract for that. Was it open to bids? What is the scope of the contract? It's a Maltese company, Hi Fly Malta, who operate the plane, not a Canadian company. How did that happen? 🤔
