I used to dress flamboyant af when I first started practicing law, for a solid 5-6 years (my OG associate-but-really-my-boss @MarissaMeredith would have the stats)

Around 2018 though I got tired of spending energy piecing together coordinating colors ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿผ
From then on it was white shirt, flamboyant tie, coordinating pocket silk if I felt like digging for one

And then jeans and a t-shirt on days I didn't have court

Though I suppose there's always the chance I had it but was asymptomatic
Tested several times over the years due to exposures (Mrs works in healthcare) but negative every time

First time I got sick since 2020 was coming back from Philly beginning of last month, and it ended up just being a pedestrian ass sinus infection ๐Ÿ˜‚

Grabbing lunch at one of my frequent spots, sitting by the kitchen this time. The overhead music is early-'70s elevator music and it's awful. The kitchen is listening to early-'00s rap and I'm debating how weird it would be for me to ask them to turn it up
Like I can hear Still D.R.E. bumping in the left ear rn, and it would be such an improvement over whatever is in my right ear ๐Ÿ˜‚
The kitchen is currently Eminem's Without Me (2002). The front is Van Morrison's Moondance (1970). It's quite the auditory experience ๐Ÿ˜‚

Past titles Mrs and I have enjoyed include BOTW (Switch), Dragon Quest XI, Witcher III, Assassin's Creed 1-5, Immortals Fenyx Rising, etc
Not yet, we're working through It Takes Two on the co-op front
Not on GamePass yet, just Origins and Odyssey

Make get Valhalla anyway but I figure I should probably get some value out of Game Pass first ๐Ÿ˜‚

Got my annual CLE report from Texas

I'm 0.25 hours short ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Evidently one of my theoretically-multi-state CLEs worked for NC but not TX ๐Ÿ˜ค
Oh they'll still suspend my license ๐Ÿ˜‚

I've got a 3-month window to find a 15-minute CLE, I'll be fine

Seems like McCarthy is gonna have to drop out at some point. If him capitulating to the Qaucus last night didn't shift any votes, I don't see how he gets them

If McCarthy dropped, I figure at some point you get someone McCarthy-adjacent like Scalise
Dems aren't gonna bail the Rs out because they have no real reason to do so; any deal they struck would be unenforceable, and none of the Rs who could win with D help are trustworthy

I imagine this will continue into next week
