THREAD: 1 My nephew got married in 2019 in Pakistan, everything seemed like a dream. The girl came to the UK in June 2021, and tthrn everything became a nightmare. From lies in the whole family, calling her husband "ugly" and "unworthy", stealing and then getting her way

To go Pakistan in Dec 2021. Despite her giving us grief, we treated her well, shopping trips, lots outings and college admission, talk therapy to entertain and help in hope that her & my nephew will fix things. My nephew still provided her sustenance till a month before she left

At her riling him up, he'd get frustrated at her. Anyways I took her to the airport in Dec 2021, & we hoped she would clear her head and realise to make this marriage work. My parents are related to hers and they live 4 doors away to each other in Pakistan

My parents were there in March 2022 and tried to explain to hers that she lied and didn't try and make her marriage work and gave her husband and all of us a hard time. They refused to believe it. İn March 2022, while my parents were there, we found out she came to UK secretly..

She was in Peterborough with some relatives. She applied for asylum, got benefits, put domestic violence and a pack of lies in her divorce (& probably asylum case) and basically betrayed my nephew for a visa

The jokes thing is she said we didn't get her an NHS or Nİ number- we bloody did this first thing when she came here to get her COVID vaccines and tried to encourage her to work and she even went college

Anyways I'm angry, and the point of my tweet is that numerous families in the UK are experiencing the same with brides from Pakistan/India who are engaging in betrayal loaded marriages just to get a visa.

And the @ukhomeoffice is granting these girls asylum whilst there are genuine victims out there of DV, asylum, abuse and refugees who get politicised and discriminated

To add: I support refugee and asylum rights and will fight tooth and nail, but I'm also concerned about the numerous cheating scum who are betraying families and men and women like this and getting the outcome they want. The worst is Sharia councils encouraging this behaviour too

P.s. there's a lot of details I can't mention due to privacy but omg I've had a headache reading the accusations and actually feel traumatised that I'm struggling to sleep at night, can't imagine what my nephew is experiencing. Vile.
