Hibernation Day #473 | The reason why Victoria gardens are brilliant is that we start gardening in January. Or, at least, tidying up. Brilliant Day, high of 13 but much warmer in the direct sun. I did a bunch of defensive pruning. 1/
The thing about this little micro-climate is that stuff that survives grows like topsy. Today I was cutting paths to the places I want to actually prune next week. If I don't the blackberry and wild roses are impassable. And the ivy. Oh, God, the ivy. 2/
But it was warm enough to sit out on my deck when I was done and enjoy a well earned beer. For most of us, normal, with a few bumps, has returned. The bumps are not being able to travel to the US without proof of 2 jabs, understocked shelves, long waits for stuff. 3/
Not good, but OK. My desire to go to Maui is constrained by the wretched junior resource market. As always there are a few markers, and good for them, I say. They annoy my sweet Susan but I really don't care. Like jabs, they are really none of my business. 4/
Over at #bcpoli the maskers are demanding that Dr. Bonnie Henry be fired for failing to re-impose mask mandates. I happen to think she is right but, more to the point, I doubt mandates could be re-imposed. A lot of people are simply done with the COVID narratives. 5/
To get masks, much less QR-ID, to work there has to be public buy-in. People have to be scared. I don't get the sense that anyone is scared anymore. Like most instances of public panic, COVID hit a peak last Fall and has been declining ever since. 6/
Lots of people are still getting COVID and 2022 had more COVID deaths than 2021 (yeah Jabs!), but the panic has gone. And the panic was the only thing which let PHO and gov't get away with the jab mandates, QR-ID, masks, plexiglass and cute little arrows at the grocery. 7/
There are still a few people clinging to the idea that COVID is a killer disease; but many people have had COVID and lived to tell the tale. The CFR of .03 has been borne out. It is about as fatal as the flu. Yes, nasty for the old and very frail, but generally, not so bad. 8/
As I have said before, it will be choppy as the narrative implodes. Especially as the jab deaths and injuries begin to mount up. For the moment, the jabbed are trying hard to whistle by the graveyard. Jabbed deaths are coincidences..no, really. And how rude of you to ask. 9/
Reality is, once again, poking its nose into the tent. Kids don't die of heart attacks, athletes don't drop dead on the playing field, cancer patients in remission do not suddenly have Stage 4 recurrences. 10/
The unjabbed are annoyed with the entirely unscientific and unconstitutional penalties they have been made to pay. But they're fine. What they know is that they have not had a gene altering jab with unknown consequences stuck into them. 11/
Were I the gov't or PHO, I would be much more worried about the jabbed, the obedient, the trusting. If the jabs turn out to be as dangerous as they look to be, 80% of the population is going to be really, really mad. And worried. And volatile. 12/
Myself, I am going to drink a nice read wine in front of my fire and read Chips (there is a lot of Chips). I took my walk, I will take my D&K and sleep soundly. Stock up, Winter is (sort of) here. Spring is coming, my bulbs have broken ground. 13/
Hibernating is easy with a good book, people you love, a great dog and a brilliant house. We are very lucky. A lot of other people are not so lucky. These last couple of years have been very hard on the poor, the single, the badly housed. We all need to do better. And help. 14/14

More authorities are ceasing to report "Health Outcomes by Vaccination Status". BC took an early lead in this trend dropping that stat back in June/July 2022. The curves were not looking good for the jabbed. The trend has continued. 1/
What I find interesting is that the gov'ts and PHO officials are confident that they can pull statistical series with no consequences. So far they have been able to pull this off. Legacy media will not ask awkward questions and the opposition is neutered for some reason. 2/
It is becoming clear that the more you are jabbed and boosted the more likely you are to catch the current variant and, stats being what they are, the more likely you will be to be hospitalized and possibly die. 3/

Hibernation Day #474 | Weather not quite so nice. But with the help of my son Sam - who did 90% of today's work - knocked back the weeds on the driveway. Grab a pressure washer next weekend and that will be the end of the weeds. 1/
Did hockey Dad thing with Max and watched a really excellent, nail biter of a game. The boys are playing purely for the love of the game. It's no body checking but otherwise very, very physical. We won, barely. No masks. 2/
There are still maskers around but they are now a tiny minority. 1/100. I find that encouraging. It shows that the fear has gone. Once that fear has dissipated I don't think there is a way of getting it back. 3/

A random commentor yesterday described my tweet thread as "Chicken Littleling". Which I think is interesting a) because I tend to pull my punches on the jabs, a lot, b) because the Covidians, markers, jabbers and mandatory all come from "Sky is Falling" land. 1/
From the earliest days of the "pandemic" the narrative has been relentless: "COVID is very dangerous" was the earliest theme. People pointing out that it actually had a low case/infection fatality rate and that it was really a disease of the very old were shouted down. 2/
The whole "stay home to flatten the curve" story was predicated on the idea that the hospitals would be overwhelmed. Catastrophy was just around the corner. Inflated case numbers and death numbers were used to create fear. 3/

#VaccineDeath is trending. The "coincidences" are piling up. A few statistics are emerging which indicate that the jabs, and particularly the boosters, do very little to prevent serious illness but increase risk of cardiac events, clots and strokes. 1/
The jab proposition never made all that much sense. Why would you take a lightly trialled, irreversible, injection to reduce the danger of a disease with a 99.7% survival rate (for use olds). 2/
It might have made some sense, for the greater good, if the jabs prevented transmission and infection. But PH knew pretty much from the go that the jabs had never been tested for the prevention of infection or transmission. 3/

Hibernation Day #472 | Stayed home other than a shortish dog walk. The mask ninnies were gunning for Dr. Bonnie Henry over at #bcpoli. Despite being jabbed and boosted they want their mask mandate back. Isn't going to happen. Therefore Bonnies should be fired. 1/
The bitter clinger Covidians are all about collective action. The Kraken is upon us. There's flu, time to get serious about coercing people. The fact that none of the NPIs actually worked is irrelevant. Like communism, real masking, forced jabs, have not yet been tried. 2/
But the Covidians scored a tremendous win with the BC Gov't refusing to allow unvaxed HCWs to return to their jobs. This bit of lunacy looks to be set in stone when double jabs will become a condition of employment in the near future. 3/

Hibernation Day #471 | Got a bunch of work done as the storm raged about. Horizontal rain is a thing when you live by the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Spent a bit of time following the bizarre proceedings in the witch hunt of @preta_6. 1/
Watched the cardiac arrest numbers roll in. Ms. Presley, a couple of kids, and any number of people without significant online profiles. Were they jabbed? Of course they were. You can't travel or play sports without having at least two of the damned things. 2/
The unvaxxed have made the running against the mandates and the QR-IDs so far; but the shift will come when the jabbed realize that they have been conned into a game of Russian roulette. Did they get jabbed with a "hot lot"? They'll find out in the next year. 3/
