What do I really think about @WendyRootAskew’s chances for re-election in #Election2024?

1. Askew has incumbency on her side, think @stevemcshane on @CityofSalinas or Kimbo Craig as Mayor having just BIFFED it in her favored supe bid. (Craig was re-elected)

2. ((People))

gave Askew $450,000 +. While that pales compared to McShane when he lost to Askew by 2,000 voted (McShane raised over $1,000,000 - that was reported to the @CA_FPPC) it’s a SHITLOAD of Interest money

3. Askew’s talking points are in line with what the community needs - generally

WHERE does Askew fall short?

1. Authenticity. Wendy has foolishly aligned herself with the scum of the scum in local politics. My belief is she did it for another SLEAZY Democrat named Plasha Fielding Will who takes money from Right Wing (the crazy kind) folks like SVLG.

2. Askew is a snob. That was Mary Duan’s complaint while at the same time exploiting the “Sister” moniker publicly to form a sort of go to, support us - because women continue to get fucked over by men, most of the time. With Duan-Askew THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

3. Askew is abusive.

4. The people in District 4, PARTICULARLY #Salinas people (the Majority of MoCo) don’t know Askew, those that do don’t care for her style or manner. that’s big. Overcome with a $44,000 @ksbw ad budget but patience is wearing thing.

I am engaged with grass roots in our community

This feedback is accurate & is not in dispute. I challenge the local politicos to get out there & truly sample it but don’t come with some horsehair from a Kate Daniels, or Dave Potter’s former aid (Peninsula Carmel Valley brats) or some trench-mouth sellout like @SupervisorLopez

Finally, I have from a reliable source who worked on @stevemcshane’s supe campaign (not Brian Higgins, though privately Higgins is a reliable source) that’s @WendyRootAskew told McShane he was too “old” to be a supe and she is the future. 🤣

That’s asinine and ageist.
