Difficult and unexpected geolocation, clarifying the situation – IF RECENT (but seems so). Still no visual confirmation from the larger residential buildings in the north.

Minimum area of #Soledar and its surroundings under Russian control, deduced from latest geolocations (no Russian or Ukrainian claims) – at least 90%.

Just one of many telling geolocations, showing why I believe #Soledar is almost completely under Russian control.
Wagner fighters moving calmly, dead Ukrainians lying on the streets, artillery fire in the background.
Short range battles seem over for now. Russians keep advancing.

Grim stuff: An Ukrainian army convoy, trying to leave #Soledar, did not recognize the escape road they chose was already under Russian control.
Wagner mercenaries set an ambush and destroyed a Ukrainian pickup and a French VAB transport tank. So there was a partial encirclement.

Approximate situation in #Soledar, according to latest geolocaged footage.
Russian invasion forces entered the center from the East and the North and now hold approximately 80% of the city areal (appr. 20% of the urban center).

There is a very disturbing video, displaying lots of killed Ukrainian troops inside a highrise residential building, which I think - but not 100% certain - can be located here.
Also if it is a nearby building, it absolutely fits into "northern Soledar" where Wagner puts it.

Corrected geolocation and cross-checked with Ukrainian footage. It's some hundred meters to the north.

Situation in Soledar is terrible.
Russians captured more than half of the town and are encircling what is left at the same time.
Ukraine needs a massive counteroffensive here or it’s lost, which would likely result in a domino effect and more areas lost soon.

To all you idiots, claiming this is because Ukraine rejected the “36 hour ceasefire”. Total bullshit. Wagner mercenaries ignored whatever liar Putin said and kept advancing during that time. It is rather them who rejected it and kept attacking Ukrainian defense positions.

And to all you idiots, claiming I posted the news “just for the clicks” and am “defeatist” again and bla bla blub.

Latest videos from Bakhmut do not correspond with some optimistic mappers' work over the past days.
Urban fighting continues, Russians are closing in on the city from the East and South.

And again: If you have videos, proving the Ukrainian army pushed Russians back in the East of South, please forward them to me, and I'll check and geolocate.

Drone footage from destroyed eastern Bakhmut. Russians used crazy firepower to knock down six-story buildings.
Unfortunately, no soldiers or vehicles are visible nearby, so it is unclear who controls the area now. "supernova_plus" is not the original source.
