I've read the thread 3x and I can't any quote undermining the notion that MLK's dream was an America where ppl were judged not by the "color of their skin but by the content of their character." Legum seems to think MLK's criticism of racism is itself a form of identitarianism.

Of course, the entire thread is a giant strawman. Because the argument isn't that we should IGNORE race, or the history of race, but rather that the ideal is that people should not be judged -- legally and societally -- by their immutable qualities, but rather by their deeds.

It says a lot about the modern left that they're annoyed by this ideal.

If Donjr’s laptop had pics of him doing crack and contained evidence that his dad had taken a ten percent cut of his shady chicom cash, I assume it would be a pretty big story.

And recall that it wasn’t just twitter; major news organizations not only refused to look into the contentions, they focused on “fact-checks” and undermining its veracity. The politico russian disinfo piece? Remember the NYT story about how the Post newsroom was in revolt?

Not a single “journalist” who went on tv over the past two days and blamed conservatives for the Q shooting will apologize or be reprimanded. And they’ll do the same thing next time.

All they have to do is wait and find out the motive before politicizing these horrific crimes. They can’t control themselves.

And, honestly, we still don’t know the motive. Maybe the shooter is lying. I have no clue. And neither does anyone on msnbc.
