I’ve spent the last few weeks working out where we can bring GPT-3 / ChatGPT into our #SEO and #digitalPR workflows at @digitaloftuk.
Here’s just a few simple ways we’re already (or soon will be) using it.
👇
💡Writing meta descriptions.
Nobody really likes writing meta descriptions, especially in bulk.
We use @airtable to house content roadmaps, and I hooked up @OpenAI with @data_fetcher to write meta descriptions from a prompt based on the page content.
👇
💡 Extract primary target keywords from a page
Manually identifying the primary target keyword for pages in bulk (think when taking on a new client and auditing) is time consuming.
We can now get about 80% accuracy with a prompt that looks at URL and title tag in seconds.
👇
💡 Finding interesting headlines from data for digital PR campaigns.
Put a data set to ChatGPT and ask it to summarise 10 interesting headlines from it.
I can guarantee there will be at least one or two you hadn’t thought of.
This = more angles for pitches!
👇
💡 Checking content for localisations and changing if found.
We work with clients in both the UK and US, and work with writers in both on some of our own projects.
Sometimes, a US spelling (or vice versa) finds it’s way into final drafts.
We can now quickly check and change.
I’m only just at the start of bringing this into our workflows, and we’re exploring many more uses to help us work smarter and more efficiently.
What I’ve learned; the output very much depends on your input. The better the prompt or data you feed in, the better the end result.

Be everything you can to your clients at the moment and they’ll stand by you all they can. Help them adapt to the current climate and be more than just a supplier; be a friend and, most of all, listen. I’ve had a few calls today and a lot conversation wasn’t about campaigns...
Rather, listening to the challenges we’re all facing at the moment and sharing thoughts on solutions. I’m not a HR guy, but I listened to a client’s worries over staff who can’t really work from home wanting to do so. Even if you don’t have answers, talking helps!
We’re all facing massive unknowns but I know for sure that those who go above and beyond for their clients will be the ones who come out winning. Be the person who picks up the phone just to see how your clients are doing and getting on! Even without a work related reason to!
