[date!! yayy!] ImageImageImageImage

——————

It feels so wrong to be nervous, to be talking to someone new, to be going on a first date again.
Jungkook loves Daehyun, has spent months thinking of their future together, and he even lives— lived with him for a few months now. He can’t just forget him so quickly. He wishes he could.
And he wishes he wouldn’t feel so guilty for trying to move on. Normally, Jungkook wouldn’t move on so easily and try to date other people, but +
Daehyun didn’t care to move on to other people while they 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 still together, and Seokjin showed up at the perfect time, so Jungkook is willing to try and get onto this “better path” his parents mentioned.
A knock on his parent’s door makes him jump out of his thoughts and he quickly gets up, wiping the imaginary dust off of his new black jacket— he’s wearing all black, despite his friend’s complaints.
He’s nervous and calms his breathing as he goes to answer the door, but he holds his breath completely once he opens it and comes face to face with an angelic smile.

Seokjin is somehow more handsome in person and he’s Jungkook’s height, but his shoulders are broader.
His smile is small, cute, and his eyes are just as charming as his smile. He holds up a singular red rose.

“They didn’t have a bouquet. They sold the last one this morning even though I asked them to keep one back for me. They’re out to ruin my plan, apparently.”
A smile forms on Jungkook’s face and he isn’t sure if it’s because of Seokjin’s pout or the fact that he’d told the shop to hold back flowers for him.

Carefully, he takes the rose and holds the little paper wrap around the stem. “Thank you.”
He’s never been a talker, but once they finally settle into Seokjin’s truck, Seokjin starts light conversation and breaks the ice so easily that Jungkook feels like he’s already met the guy and known him for years.
He doesn’t treat him like a stranger other than the occasional question about Jungkook’s interests. Before they make it to the restaurant, Jungkook is already calming by his side.
“This is my favorite restaurant,” Seokjin says as they pull up to the place. “Their meat is amazing. You’ll see for yourself.“

They go inside the restaurant together and the older woman who seemingly owns the place gives Seokjin a big smile, happy to see him.
“My love! Come sit, come sit!” She pulls out a chair at the two-seater table, then pulls out the other chair for Jungkook. They both sit, smiling along with her. “Is this a new friend, Jinnie?”
Seokjin turns a bit red at the casualty of it all. He looks over the table at Jungkook as if to ask whether he should say anything or not.
“We’re on a date,” Jungkook speaks for him. The lady’s eyes widen and she immediately scrambles to leave the two alone after taking their order. “You’re loved here,” Jungkook says once she’s gone.

“I come here too often,” Seokjin laughs dryly.
Jungkook thought he was going to feel bad and that this date would feel wrong, but once they get their several types of meats to try out and Seokjin is excitedly showing Jungkook all these nice foods, he feels so cared for.
With Daehyun, they just sit and eat whatever, but Seokjin observes and tries to find out what Jungkook would like, then offers it to him with his very own chopsticks.

“Oh, wow.” Jungkook’s eyebrows draw together as he tastes the glazed chicken Seokjin gave him.
“Is it good? I can’t tell. You look sort of.. mad at it..?”

Jungkook covers his mouth and tries not to laugh, swallowing quickly. “I love it. This is my loving face.”
Seokjin’s eyes widen animatedly. “That’s your loving face? I must be slacking then, huh?” he chuckles. Jungkook shakes his head.

“You’re not slacking. This is my 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 face. Don’t worry.”
Seokjin smiles and pushes the plate of chicken in Jungkook’s direction. “Have it since you like it. I’ll eat the steak.”
Even though Jungkook likes how nice Seokjin is being, he can’t help but remember that Daehyun was also nice to him. He never once showed any signs of being a cheater or anything bad at all.
He can’t get ahead of himself when it comes to Seokjin. He wouldn’t want to make the same mistake twice.

“Thanks.”

He keeps their conversation light and short, showing only enough interest to have Seokjin pleased.
A while into their date, Seokjin leans in and down a little, trying to catch Jungkook’s attention. “You okay? You’re pretty zoned out...”

Jungkook blinks back into the real world and out of his busy thoughts. He didn’t realize he was zoned out or that Seokjin was talking to him.
“Oh. Um. I’m sorry, I’m just really nervous. I haven’t been on a date in a long time.”

Again, Seokjin gives him a smile, but this one is more reassuring and kind. He reaches his hand out over the table, palm facing up and asking for Jungkook’s in return.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s been a while for me too, Jungkook. I don’t want you to be afraid of dating again.”

He knows that Seokjin doesn’t know the full story behind his words. Seokjin doesn’t know how recently Jungkook has had his heart torn to pieces.
But that calm reassurance and the way Seokjin invites him to hold his hand is everything Jungkook wants to fall back onto right now.
Though he’s a bit hesitant, he hovers his hand over Seokjin’s and the second their fingers skim against each other, Jungkook finally sighs away his worries and allows his hand to fall into his date’s.
Seokjin eases his thumb over Jungkook’s skin and he smiles cutely as he eats away at his steak.

Somehow, it still feels a little bit wrong— for himself 𝘢𝘯𝘥 for Seokjin. He feels like he isn’t being fair to either of them at this point.

Everything happens so quickly.

They haven’t had a wedding yet, but they both agree to marry each other and suddenly everything is on blast.
From picking out rings, talking about Jungkook moving in with Seokjin, and getting a wedding planner to help them out— it happens quickly.

By the second month, Jungkook still feels as if a piece of his heart was ripped away, but he at least is planning to move on with his life.
It’s not that he doesn’t like Seokjin— he’s an amazing guy, he’s funny, and he’s really good-looking— but Jungkook loves with all of his heart and he can also be broken
and stay that way for months, up to a year or more, like when he’s lost loved ones or how he was sad when he graduated and hadn’t seen some of his friends since then.
With Daehyun, he really thought he would be the one to love and marry and be together forever.

So how is it that Jungkook found himself packing boxes of clothes to go and move in with his new fiancé?— not Daehyun.
Not only that, but the fact that Jungkook went from his own home to his parent’s home and now to Seokjin’s home— he hates moving back and forth and he hates how uncertain he is at times.
He can’t be certain that he’s making right decisions, but his friends and parents reassure him, along with Seokjin, who doesn’t even know the half of Jungkook’s worries, yet still just somehow knows what to say.
Even as he helps Jungkook carry boxes into their now shared apartment, Seokjin stops and glances back at him, giving him a knowing look.

“You good? Is there something wrong?”
Jungkook quickly denies it, shaking his head as he sets a box down by the door. “No, just tired is all.”

Even after the denial, Seokjin steps up to Jungkook and places his palm over Jungkook’s cheek, earning his attention.
“If there’s anything you don’t like, just tell me, okay? This is your home now and I want you to feel at home too.”
A shiver runs down Jungkook’s spine, but his shoulders drop and he suddenly feels his throat swell up, tears threatening to form in his eyes as he thinks over Seokjin’s words.
It reminds him all too much of when he moved in with Daehyun. It reminds him all too much of the heartbreak he felt while walking into his very own home and catching his boyfriend with someone else.

‘Home’ isn’t even a safe place.
“I- I just wanna finish unpacking so I can take a shower. Please?”

Seokjin must’ve noticed the way Jungkook zoned out because now he has worry in his eyes and Jungkook gulps as he wonders if he gave himself away.
“If you want, I can unpack your things while you shower. Then you can just relax, yeah?” Seokjin tries to work with Jungkook, but Jungkook doesn’t let that happen.

“I don’t want to bother you, hyung.”
“You’re not a bother, Jungkook-ah.” Seokjin goes over to the box labeled as self-care and takes Jungkook’s bath bag out, handing it to him, letting him have his soaps and stuff. “I’ll show you where I keep the towels and you can put your toothbrush in the bathroom too. Come on.”
He gently takes Jungkook’s hand and leads him away from the boxes, not taking no for an answer. Jungkook doesn’t mind or else he’d say something. He just lets Seokjin take care of him anyway.

Jungkook took a bottle of water from the fridge and since it’s raining, he gets comfortable on the soft sofa and watches the rain hit the window.

It’s cold and he probably should be under a blanket right now, but it’s whatever.
And he’s so incredibly exhausted, but it’s hard to sleep when all he can do is stare up at the ceiling.

“Jungkook-ah?” He’s pulled from his half-sleep and glances over to Seokjin, who was walking out of his room. “Aren’t you going to sleep?”
Jungkook holds up his bottle of water and gives him a small smile. “I was thirsty. I already finished the drink you gave me earlier. Hope you don’t mind.”
Seokjin steps up behind the sofa and smiles as well. “Anything here is yours. I don’t mind whatever you want— except maybe my gummy snacks. I’m greedy with those,” he jokes, cracking up.
Jungkook laughs lightly and nods, telling him he won’t take them, to which Seokjin offers some anyway.
After Seokjin goes off to the kitchen and comes back by the living room, he walks around the sofa and apparently thought it was too cold because he has a blanket in his hands and doesn’t ask before settling down next to Jungkook and wrapping the fuzzy warmness around him.
The heat from Seokjin’s body is warmer than the blanket and in all honesty, when Seokjin pulls Jungkook a little closer until he’s lying back onto him, Jungkook feels his heart melt.
He snuggles closer into Seokjin and tries to share the blanket with him as they both watch the rainfall.

“Is this too much?”

Jungkook shakes his head gently. “It’s perfect, hyung.”
Lying in Seokjin’s arms like this reminds Jungkook just how much better off he is, being in the arms of someone who means no harm.
Seokjin is warm, he’s the perfect fit, and Jungkook turns over to wrap his arms around him easily. He’s comfortable. He’s safe. The sound of the rain is relaxing. It’s perfect.

For the first time in a while, Jungkook falls asleep easily.

Jungkook made pork belly and rice for Seokjin, and when he entered the apartment, Seokjin was quick to praise Jungkook and tell him how nice it looks and smells.
He was happy with how it turned out and he even garnished it nicely as if he’s a chef.

“Come eat,” he says as he places the bowl down on the small dining table.
Seokjin waited until Jungkook was sat down with his own food, though. When they’re settled down, they dig into the meal— Seokjin eats deliciously.

“This is amazing, Jungkook-ah.” He fills his mouth full as if he hasn’t eaten all day.
“Hyung, did you eat today?”

Seokjin nods. “I had some gummy snacks during lunch.”

Jungkook gasps. “Hyung! That’s not food! That’s candy, too. How is that fulfilling? Weren’t you hungry?”
“I’m eating right now,” Seokjin pouts from across the table. Jungkook huffs and shakes his head.
“Do you normally do this? And you said you usually order takeout? You need at least a salad or something for lunch, hyung. They sell different packages of salads and you can get whichever you like— why are you looking at me like that?”
Seokjin’s eyes are set on Jungkook as he speaks, but he’s smiling so fondly that it makes Jungkook fidget a little in his chair.

“Because you’re cute.”
He tries to dismiss the warmth rising to his cheeks by stuffing his face with pork and avoiding eye contact with Seokjin, but the older chuckles at him.
“Jungkook-ah, we should get to know each other a lot more. Maybe we can get in some comfortable clothes and chill on the couch again? Just hang out?”

Jungkook nods. “We can do that. But aren’t you going to eat?”
Seokjin lifts his bowl with both hands and shows the empty dish. “I finished. I’ll wait for you and then go shower, yeah?”

Proud of his meal tasting so good, Jungkook puffs his chest out and sits up tall.
“You can go on, hyung. I’m almost done anyway. I’ll meet you on the couch after your shower.”

“Hm, okay. If you want a blanket, they’re in that closet.” He points to the hall closet as he stands up. “I’ll be quick.” He goes to take a shower as Jungkook eats the rest of his meal.
——————

This time, Jungkook lays on the couch, watching whatever was on the TV on low volume as he waits for Seokjin.
When he does finally come, he’s a bit playful as he takes Jungkook’s blanket and replaces it with himself, sliding easily between Jungkook’s legs and wrapping the blanket around them both.
It’s not a familiar feeling to have Seokjin cuddle up to him, but it feels nice. He’s warm, he smells woodsy, and he’s cute with his fluffy, dried hair.
“You smell good.” He doesn’t care if it sounds weird to say. Seokjin’s hair is just below his nose and it’s comforting, the smell. “What shampoo do you use?”
Seokjin laughs lightly with his cheek pressed into Jungkook’s chest. “Same to you, you smell like flowers. And I was going to ask if you wanted to play twenty questions, but it looks like you beat me to it.”
“Twenty questions?” Jungkook asks. “Can I go first?”

“Are you going to ask about my shampoo?”

Jungkook grins to himself. “No, I was going to ask where you learned to cook since you always order in.”
“Oh. My mom taught me growing up. She loves cooking. What about you? Do you cook often?”

“Not often. I usually help in the kitchen, but every once in a while I cook small things for myself.”

Seokjin hums. “Your pork was really nice. You cook well.”
Jungkook sucks in his bottom lip and nibbles at it. “Is it my turn to ask a question? Did that count as yours?” Seokjin nods. “Okay, um, what do you do for fun?”
“Play games,” Seokjin quickly answers, “and watch videos. Gaming, astrology, conspiracies, cooking, just whatever. What about you?”

“Hyung,” Jungkook pouts. “You can’t just ask me the same questions.”

“But I wanna know, though!”

“Then ask at least one question later!”
Seokjin chuckles. “Okay, then. You said your friends are Jimin and Taehyung, right?” Jungkook nods, remembering their texts of him saying so. “How did you meet them?”
“I went to school with both of them. Jimin became my manager and Taehyung is a florist, sometimes paints for money too.”

Seokjin hums as if he’s thinking to himself. “Where does Taehyung work?”
“That’s two questions, hyung. It’s my turn, not yours.” He smirks, being bratty while Seokjin grumbles. “Do you… have any regrets in life?”
Surprisingly, it doesn’t take long at all for Seokjin to respond. Jungkook thought he’d take a minute, but, “I live mindlessly. I don’t regret much and I don’t hold things against other people or myself. Life is too short for regretting.”
Jungkook slumps defeatedly as he thinks of Seokjin’s mindset.

As Seokjin raises to sit up and stretch on the couch, Jungkook sits up as well, but he just looks at Seokjin and pulls his knees up to his chest, making himself smaller.
Seokjin gets more comfortable on the couch, facing Jungkook, and he looks him right in the eyes once he’s settled down.

“What’s your biggest regret, Jungkook?”

He doesn’t know exactly what he regrets, but he knows he regrets something.
Meeting Park Daehyun? Giving his all to him? Letting himself be fooled and fooling himself? Maybe he regrets coming home early from training, but maybe he’d regret not coming home early someday in the future.
The more he thinks about it, the more he realizes he can’t regret all those things. He can’t regret it because if it never happened, he wouldn’t be where he is now.

He looks Seokjin in his eyes, noticing how patient he’s being.
“I regret not meeting you sooner.”

Seokjin’s eyes fall closed for a moment as his lips tug into a nice little smile, and then his eyes sparkle back at Jungkook. “We did meet when we were little, at least.”
“That’s not what I mean,” Jungkook mumbles.

Seokjin reaches out for Jungkook’s hand and without hesitating, they carefully lock their fingers together.

“I know what you mean..”

Their wedding isn’t anything grand or crazy, and they’ve seen each other’s friends and family only a few times before, but they’re all there and Jungkook is pleased with that.
When he walks out to see Seokjin for the first time today, he’s shocked, realizing that it’s possible for Kim Seokjin to become even more handsome than he already is.
His black suit and tie fits snug over his broad shoulders and his dark hair is split to the side, allowing his dark, attentive eyes and forehead to be seen.
Seokjin watches Jungkook’s every move— everyone does— as he walks down the aisle. He gulps any worries away once he’s finally standing in front of Seokjin.
He’s gorgeous, everything about him is god-like, but Jungkook calms down a bit once Seokjin gives him a sweet little smile, showing him that he’s still the same guy as before.
Jungkook hardly pays attention to the other older man next to them until he's telling the couple to put their rings on each other.

When they picked out rings, they didn’t go with anything too fancy or expensive, but they did get cute matching bands that made them happy.
And when it comes time for kissing, well, Seokjin’s hand is unfamiliar when he places it on Jungkook’s cheek and Jungkook feels all warm inside as Seokjin leans in and lands a peck on his other cheek.
They still haven’t kissed. It’s only been two months since Jungkook moved in and while he likes taking it slow, he notices how Seokjin backs away and glances down at his lips as if he wants to do more.
Jungkook is more okay with Seokjin now. He likes what they have going on; dinners together, cuddling on the couch, sometimes teasing each other while they brush their teeth in the mornings.
He still sleeps in his own bed, however. And they’re never intimate past holding hands or cuddling. After marriage, Jungkook plans to change that. He wants to push further.

Day by day, he heals when he’s with Seokjin.
He wasn’t sure if falling back onto someone else after his heartbreak would work. He wasn’t positive that anyone could beat his love for Daehyun— and he still isn’t sure, but he knows he likes Seokjin, which is a start.
Seokjin is kind, patient, gentle, and he’s funny too. He never makes Jungkook feel left out, like when they met each other’s friends and family. Seokjin clearly likes Jungkook and he knows that. He knew that.
And it wasn’t until Jungkook finally accepted his new fate that he opened himself up to be with Seokjin, and now nobody else matters.

His past doesn’t matter.
What matters is what he has now, which is a type of care that he honestly doesn’t think he got before. He thought Daehyun cared until Seokjin put a whole new meaning to it.

That’s why Kim Seokjin is the one Jungkook is marrying.
That’s why Jungkook tears up after Seokjin kisses him on the cheek and as Seokjin worriedly wipes the stray tear away, Jungkook tries to hold himself together.
When is all said and done and they’re announced as husbands, Jungkook blocks out the cheering and clapping as he throws himself into Seokjin’s hold and hugs him so tight that Seokjin lets out a strangled gasp— but he still holds Jungkook back.
Jungkook loves the feeling of Seokjin’s arms wrapped around him and he loves Seokjin’s gentle, “Everything okay, Jungkook-ah?”

He lets out a dry laugh and pulls away, nodding. “Just happy, is all.”
Seokjin smiles wide with a joy in his eyes that Jungkook has never seen before and he takes Jungkook’s hand into his.
“Let’s go. We have a lodge waiting for us.” The lodge, which is where they’re having their honeymoon. It’s winter, so a nice little lodge was plenty for them to relax as new husbands.
There’s no afterparty or anything like that. They thank everyone for coming and then they’re shooed off by family and friends who tease them and tell them to have “fun”.
The husbands laugh and blush like crazy— because no, they don’t plan on having sex during their honeymoon. They haven’t even kissed!
Still, they hurry off and they’re excited because the lodge has games, wine, a jacuzzi, and a perfect view of the pretty land where the snow will fall.

For the first time ever, Jungkook and Seokjin will be sleeping in the same bed together.

Jungkook is nervous as he lies there in the comfort of the unfamiliar bed, waiting for Seokjin to get in as well.
He’s all freshened up, put on lotions and moisturizers, and is in his pajamas. Jungkook’s never paid much attention to the simplest things, but now that they’re getting ready for bed together, he has to notice such things.
Like the way Seokjin plugs his phone in and leaves it on the bedside table, then picks up his book to read. Or the way Seokjin sits up properly on the bed so he can focus— or the fact that he wears glasses.
“Have you always worn glasses?”

Seokjin chuckles at his question. “I usually wear contacts, but yeah. I only wear them at night like this.”
His glasses are cute on him.

“You’re cuter,” Seokjin says as he places his book back down and settles down next to Jungkook, who hadn’t realized he’d spoken his thoughts out loud.
They’re lying next to each other now and Jungkook holds his breath once they’re face-to-face, once he realizes he’s been called cute.

“Hyung,” he slightly whines, dragging out the vowel. “You can’t just say things like that. You’re the cute one here.”
The fondest smile forms on Seokjin’s face. He slips his hand under the blanket and when he finds Jungkook’s hand, he brings it into their view and twists his fingers over Jungkook’s silver ring.

“We’re husbands now. Why can’t I say things like that?”
The feeling is so nice, it warms Jungkook’s heart more than he thought it ever would. He intertwines their fingers and then pulls Seokjin’s hand up to his chest, practically cuddling it.
“Since this is our honeymoon and I like you, I’ll let it pass. Also because it makes me warm and it’s freezing outside.”

Seokjin laughs. “So making you blush is the cure to the weather situation?”

“I mean, cuddling would probably be warmer. It’s really cold, you know.”
Without missing a single beat, Seokjin scoots closer and pulls the blanket up to their necks. He wraps his arms around Jungkook and nestles his nose into his neck.
“You’re right. Much warmer,” he mutters against his skin. Jungkook wraps his arms around him too, closing his eyes and feeling the thump of his heart against his chest.
They cuddle like this for a while and Jungkook nearly falls asleep even with the lamp shining in his eyes, but Seokjin lifts his head, stirring Jungkook awake again.

He only backed away enough to look at Jungkook, and their eyes meet seconds before Seokjin speaks.
“I know that you like me,” he says unexpectedly. It makes Jungkook freeze. “You wouldn’t have married me otherwise. But are you physically attracted to people? To me?”

Jungkook blinks in confusion.

“Um. Yes.. Why are you asking me that?”
A slight pout forms on Seokjin’s lips. “I’m sorry. I know you want to take things slow, but I was just curious if you ever actually wanted to... I don’t know.”
Jungkook frowns, upset as he realizes whatever this is has been on Seokjin’s mind for longer than only today, when he looked down at Jungkook’s lips during their wedding.

“Do you want to kiss, hyung?”
Seokjin squirms a little and he flips over onto his back to avoid Jungkook’s eyes. “I don’t— I don’t wanna push you or anything. I just wanted to know..”
“It’s not that I don’t want to, hyung. I guess I’m a bit reserved and shy, but I don’t mean to keep you waiting for so long.”

Seokjin frowns now. “I’ll wait however long you want, Jungkook.”
Again, he feels cared for, but he doesn’t want to be unfair to Seokjin, especially not if he wants the same thing.

“Hyung,” he mutters softly. He doesn’t continue until Seokjin looks at him. “Please kiss me.”
Seokjin leans in, but not enough to close the gap between them. “What if you don’t like it and I ruin our wedding day?”

Jungkook scoffs. “You could never ruin any day of mine and I know I’ll like kissing you because I like you. So kiss me, please.”
Seokjin’s eyes fall to his lips for a second time today and Jungkook puckers his lips slightly. “This isn’t romantic or anything special, though.”

“We’d be having our first kiss on our wedding day. How much more special could it get, hyung?”
“I don’t know, something cute. Not while we’re in pajamas and glasses.”

Jungkook would like a better timing and place as well, but he doesn’t say that. “Kiss me when the moment feels right, then. You have my full permission to do it, but under one condition.”
Seokjin’s body becomes less tense, but he looks skeptical.

“What one condition?”

Jungkook smiles. “As long as you cuddle me, you can kiss me whenever. But you have to keep cuddling me for the rest of our lives, though.”
Seokjin quickly turns his lamp off and this time when he buries himself under Jungkook’s chin, they plan to sleep, and Seokjin now has permission to kiss him whenever he wants to.
Jungkook sleeps happily with Seokjin in his arms and their legs tangled together for warmth, happy because he knows Seokjin plans to kiss him now.

“Jungkook.”

They’re separated in the grocery store aisle with Seokjin on one end and Jungkook on the other, so as a hand snakes around his waist, Jungkook’s heart races and he jumps, immediately turning to flee from the touch.
Though he wishes it was Seokjin sneaking up on him, it isn’t. After months of not seeing Daehyun, Jungkook is shocked to see him now.
“D-Daehyun?” He nearly backs all the way against the shelves as he gapes at him. As Daehyun tries to talk and come closer, Jungkook holds his hand up as a barrier. “Don’t. Don’t touch me like that. We’re not together anymore.”
Daehyun raises his hands in defeat. “Jungkook, baby, I’m sorry. It’s just a habit.”

“Habits die down after months of being broken off,” Jungkook tells him. “A-And don’t call me baby either.”
He doesn’t mean to stutter, doesn’t mean for his heart to crumble or beat so fast, doesn’t mean to get so worked up or feel so upset. But it’s his first time seeing Daehyun since he caught him cheating and it’s hard.
“You blocked me.”

Daehyun’s voice is calm and friendly despite all the nasty emotions Jungkook is feeling right now.

“Yeah, Daehyun.” He clenches his fists. “I block lying cheaters out of my life. Thought that was the obvious thing to do.”
Daehyun sighs and even that annoys Jungkook right now. “Jungkook, I know I was an idiot, okay? But I wanna talk—“

“Look, Jungkook-ah.” It’s Seokjin’s light voice that brings Jungkook back down to Earth, that makes his heart calm, and makes his shoulders less tense.
He and Daehyun look at Seokjin, who’s holding up seasoning. “Sorry, did I interrupt?” he asks as he goes to Jungkook’s side. “I just thought this was more important than whatever 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 talking about.”
He looks straight at Daehyun as he speaks, sounding just as calm and friendly as Daehyun was seconds ago, but Daehyun’s act falls easily.
“Who’s this?”

Seokjin flips the seasoning in his hand, unbothered. “I could ask you the same thing. I’m Jungkook’s husband.”
Jungkook holds back a smile as Seokjin’s palm eases over his back. Daehyun looks shocked and confused, just like Jungkook had been when he caught Daehyun cheating.
“Husband? How?”

Jungkook shrugs. “Whatever concerns me isn’t your business anymore. All you need to know is that I’m happily taken. So don’t come up to me like you just did ever again.”
“What the hell, Jungkook? It hasn’t even been half a year yet. How are you married?” He looks down at their hands to check if there’s a ring (there definitely is).
Seokjin glances over at Jungkook, probably noting the fact that it hasn’t been half a year since he and Daehyun broke up. Even so, Seokjin still stands his ground.
“Look, dude, I don’t know who you are or what you did, but we’re just trying to buy groceries. Move on. He’s with me now.”
Daehyun flinches at the stern ‘move on’ and Jungkook never even thought about the possibility of Daehyun still having feelings for him, but he seems affected by Kim Seokjin’s existence.
“I can’t believe this.”

Jungkook scoffs. “Yeah, well, neither could I. Goodbye, Daehyun.” He grabs Seokjin’s hand and rushes to get away from his ex, and Seokjin lets himself be pulled.
But now he looks like a lost puppy and Jungkook feels bad, and he’s also scared. He’s terrified of how Seokjin will react when they’re out of public and he explains his situation.

What if he’s mad?

What if he’s upset with him?
They’re silent for the rest of their shopping and they avoid walking anywhere near Daehyun. When they finally leave the store, Jungkook lets out a shaky sigh and leans against Seokjin’s truck to get some fresh air.
Seokjin doesn’t question it until he puts the groceries in the back seat and then stands right next to him, leaning against the truck.
Carefully, he eases his head onto Jungkook’s shoulder. “I thought that maybe you’d recently come out of a relationship,” he mutters quietly.
Jungkook tenses up. “You pushed yourself to be with me and I thought that maybe you’d end up liking me by the time we agreed to get married, or at least by the wedding.”

“Hyung… you knew..?”
“I just assumed. You didn’t seem into it at first, but I’m maybe- possibly- a little certain that you like me now, though. I know what it’s like to move on from people. I know it sucks.”
“I- I do like you, hyung. I was still going through stuff at first, but you’re the only person I want to be with. Can we talk about this sometime else, though? Not in the store parking lot?”
Seokjin gives him a small smile.

“Sure, my cutie. Let’s get you home and away from this mess.”

“He cheated on me,” Jungkook blurts out over the low sound of the TV. Seokjin gawks at him. “The week you and I first started talking, he cheated on me and that’s when your mom texted mine. I believe in fate, and my parents told me to take the chance to move on. So I took it.”
Seokjin lowers the TV volume more and he turns to completely face Jungkook, reaching for his hand.
“Jungkook-ah,” he lets out. “Anyone who cheats doesn't deserve someone like you, okay? I know breakups are hard and it takes time to move on.” He holds tightly onto Jungkook’s hand. “But I'll treat you like you should be. Forget about that guy.”
“I am,” Jungkook tells him. “It's not easy to just forget someone after being with them for a while, but I've thought about it so much and you- you really helped me move on, and I'm sorry for not telling you before.”
“Don’t apologize, please.” He pulls Jungkook closer and wraps his arms around him. “We’re living in the present, not the past. He's the past. We're the present, baby.”

Jungkook grins happily for many reasons.
One, because Seokjin called him baby. Two, because he finally told Seokjin his worries. And three, because Seokjin isn't upset with him, but instead leaves a peck on his head.
“I know this isn't romantic or special,” Seokjin says as he cups Jungkook’s cheek. He leans in once again and this time, to his surprise, Seokjin pecks his lips. “But I want you to know I'm here for you, okay?”
Tears form in Jungkook’s eyes and he throws his arms around Seokjin to pull him in and nuzzle into his neck, holding back a cry that’s probably been held in for far too long.
“Hyung, you've been here for me since day one, most times not even knowing why or meaning to be. J-Just you wanting to be with me a-and treating me better than anyone means so much to me.”
“Shh, shh, it's okay. Cry if you need to baby. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not ever gonna leave you. You deserve to be treated well.”
He doesn't even realize the choked cries he's trying to hold back. He doesn't usually cry, but he lets himself do so in Seokjin’s hold because he feels safe and loved like this.
Seokjin runs his fingers through his hair and gently strokes his back until Jungkook falls asleep in his arms.

“You’re home early.”

Jungkook nods, then glances from the TV to the big, obvious gift on the coffee table. It’s wrapped in gold metallic paper and has a big white bow on top of it.
“Who’s that for?” he asks. Seokjin steps up to it and lightly moves it towards Jungkook.

“You. Open it.”
Not completely sure who he thought it would be for, but Jungkook never expected the gift to be his, so his eyes widen as he takes another look at it.

“For me?” he asks, his voice higher in awe. “Hyung, you got me a gift?”
As he sits up to bring the gift closer, Seokjin nods in response. Jungkook quickly thanks him as he takes the wrapper and rips it away.
Underneath is a box which he has to open, and he notices three little canvases separated by foam sheets. He pulls them all out at the same time and gasps as he realizes that they’re paintings and they’re in Taehyung’s art style—
“Oh my god,” he whispers as he recognizes it as their wedding photos in art form. “Hyung, this is amazing! This- This is so cute! Thank you.”
He gets up and immediately pulls Seokjin into a hug just like he had on their wedding day. Seokjin hugs back, but not for long because Jungkook pulls away.

“Hyung,” he whispers again, “can I kiss you?”
Seokjin’s ears turn red and with his flustered, shy smile, Jungkook has never wanted to kiss him so much before.

“You can.”
Unlike their first kiss which was a tiny peck, Jungkook cups Seokjin’s cheeks and pulls him close, attaching their lips and letting them actually feel something this time.
He feels the plumpness of Seokjin’s warm lips and the way Seokjin so calmly places his fingertips over Jungkook’s chest.

For the first time, they kiss in perfect sync and it makes Jungkook’s heart melt. Kissing Seokjin feels right. It feels like home.
When they pull away, Seokjin is bright red over his ears, cheeks, and neck. Jungkook smiles at the sight and then turns back to the paintings.

“Thank you for these. I love them.”
Seokjin nods and clears his throat to try and avert the attention from his obvious blushing. “You’re welcome, Jungkook-ah.”

They’re sitting on a red blanket, snacking on fruit as the sun sets over the river. The sky is in fact clear and the sun slowly melts away, but they’re sitting near a lamppost for light.
Instead of leaving after the sun sets, they lie back on the blanket and look up at the stars, and Jungkook glances frequently at Seokjin as he talk about them.
“Hyung,” Jungkook cuts in at some point. Seokjin turns his head to him, listening. “You’re so cute with all your fancy knowledge.”

The husbands chuckle and Seokjin’s ears are most likely as red as his cheeks because he looks away, flustered.
“Hyung,” Jungkook repeats. This time he props his elbow up and moves closer to Seokjin, their eyes meeting as he hovers over him. “I love that about you.”

He leans in and braces his hand over Seokjin’s body as he pecks his cheek, then lingers once he kisses his lips.
It’s not too cold outside, but the kiss warms the husbands right up. Jungkook loves the way Seokjin’s hands gently touch his chest and the way their kiss touches his heart.
They kiss longer than they normally do, with Jungkook cupping Seokjin’s cheek and both parting their lips.

Nobody is around on a late winter night, so Jungkook has no issue with taking the moment to kiss his husband like he wants.
“Jungkook-ah,” Seokjin mutters as he tilts his head to stop the kiss. He’s pouting, so Jungkook kisses his jaw and giggles a little as he hears Seokjin inhale a small gasp.

He pulls away, though. “Hyung, let me kiss you.”

“You’re gonna get us arrested.”
Jungkook laughs, resting his head on Seokjin’s shoulder. “How about we go home then? It’ll get colder soon and I don’t want you to catch a cold.”
“Well, aren’t you just the sweetest?” Seokjin asks sarcastically. Jungkook rolls his eyes as he sits up and starts packing away things.

“Hm. Guess I won’t be kissing you when I get home since you want to stay here—“
Before he can even finish that thought, Seokjin sits up and pulls Jungkook in by his jaw, attaching their lips once more. He kisses as if he wasn’t shying away just moments ago, assertive to Jungkook.
“We’re kissing like hell when we get home, Jungkook.”

Jungkook grins. “Just kissing?”
Now, Seokjin’s eyes widen. “I- Just- Let’s pack up and get home.” He hurries to pack their containers and Jungkook chuckles once he realizes Seokjin is flustered, yet eager to hurry up and leave.

Here’s the thing about Min Yoongi:

He’s an amazing secretary, always knows exactly how to do things and hardly ever makes a mistake. He’s a sweet soul with a gentle touch and kind smile.

The omega’s scent is warm and sweet, like a warm caramel apple on a late fall evening, or like some good ol’ street-style hotteok. Seokjin loves his scent and is thankful to be blessed by it nearly every day for the last two years.
And for the last two years, Seokjin has grown fond of Yoongi, has admired him, and perhaps he likes the omega more than he’ll ever admit.

It’s not that he’s a coward or too scared of rejection!
