1/ Officers are reportedly shooting at the feet of mobilised Russians to force them to sign new contracts 'volunteering' for service in assault units. According to relatives, their regiment is one of many to have recently been broken up and the men reassigned to other units. ⬇️
2/ The men, who are from the Vladimir region east of Moscow, are likely to be serving in the forests around Svatove. They were reportedly forced to flee from incomplete defensive positions under heavy Ukrainian shelling last November.
3/ According to relatives at that time, "the mobilised did not have special military equipment and military equipment, including reconnaissance equipment.
4/ "There were no experienced officers in the regiment – the company commanders, having determined their positions, left for the headquarters of the regiment and did not return to the personnel before the start of the artillery shelling."
5/ Now, relatives say, the men have been left in the forest without food or water, cut off completely from resupply. They are drinking from a spring and living in crude huts made from branches. Officers have visited them to force them at gunpoint to sign contracts as volunteers.
6/ According to the relatives, the men's regiment – the 346th (unit number 11048) – was disbanded and they were reassigned to the 752nd regiment. They were taken to an unknown destination somewhere in the 'LNR' before dumped in the forest with no explanation or fresh orders.
7/ The relatives say in a private WhatsApp channel that many other regiments have also been disbanded and that "the rotation of troops is occurring everywhere." It's not clear why, but one possibility is a reorganisation ahead of a Spring offensive.
8/ The men have told their relatives: "Representatives of various regiments, including the 752nd, came and forced them to sign contracts as volunteers for the assault troops; in some cases it came to shooting at their feet.
9/ "They were given until Friday to sign and then the outcome could be anything.

There are no official documents, which regiment they are assigned to, who their commander is.
10/ "Every day people come to them in military uniform, without introducing themselves, without identifying themselves, it is not clear what position they are in, they talk out of order, they put psychological pressure on them to change their status from mobilised to a volunteer.
11/ "They threaten them with a tribunal and with being designated as '500s' [refuseniks]."

The relatives have written to the army and the Ministry of Defence for help, but have only been given vague reassurances.

1/ If Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine had succeeded in 2022, Ukraine's industries would have been seized and taken over by Russian oligarchs. A leaked document shows that oligarch Konstantin Malofeev intended to create a 'DMZ Concern' from Ukraine's largest plants. ⬇️ Image
2/ Malofeev is a billionaire who is a close supporter of Vladimir Putin and an aggressive promotor of religious conservatism. He's an overt monarchist who reportedly sees Putin as a new Tsar, and has links with far-right parties and individuals in Europe and the US. Image
3/ The EU, US and Canada have sanctioned Malofeev for trying to destabilise Ukraine and finance separatism. He's closely linked to pro-Russian separatists and was the former employer of Igor Girkin. He's been accused of funding radical nationalist movements across Europe.

1/ More signs are emerging of preparations for a forthcoming new wave of mobilisation in Russia, including the introduction of 'exit visas' for vehicles leaving the country and the compulsory registration of university students for military service. ⬇️ Image
2/ The practice of requiring people to have an exit visa to leave Russia was abandoned after the fall of the USSR. However, it's effectively being reintroduced by the back door, by a new law that has been introduced into the State Duma. It will take effect from 1 March.
3/ The proposed law requires anyone resident in Russia to pre-book the date and time for crossing the state border in a vehicle, supposedly to improve the "throughput of international automobile checkpoints."

1/ Russia's 392nd Rifle Regiment, last seen complaining about its flooded ice-filled trenches two weeks ago, is reportedly in a deplorable state: mass drunkenness, fights between the men and even a covered-up murder in a quarrel over a sleeping bag. ⬇️
2/ A soldier serving with the regiment has told the 'Caution, News' Telegram channel that the man who filmed the video above was subsequently thrown in a pit by his superiors and then taken out of Ukraine. He and his wife are now both facing criminal charges.
3/ The soldier says his unit is wracked by drunkenness, which he says is "thriving among the personnel". They are taking their lead from their commander, who is himself regularly drunk and beats his men.

1/ Mobilised Russians from Tver in northwest Russia now have to sign a form stating that they agree with the war in Ukraine and will fight under any circumstances for as long as is needed, while also implicitly promising to die rather than surrender or be captured. ⬇️
2/ The form was published by a local dissident Telegram channel, 'Close Tver behind me'. The unit in question likely intends to use it to shut down future complaints from mobiks about the conditions of their service or their equipment, like these below.
3/ Translation:

"I, (military rank, surname, first name, patronymic, year of birth, position), undergoing military service on mobilisation in military unit 29296, hereby report that I am fully aware of my duty as a soldier of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, …

1/ Mobilised Russians from Siberia are upset that their commanders lied to them about where they would be serving, say they are living in appalling conditions with little equipment or supplies, and appeal for relief after suffering heavy losses on the front line. ⬇️
2/ In the video, provided to the 'Baikal People' Telegram channel by a relative, the Novosibirsk men say they were sent "in close proximity to the front line without any training, equipment or support."
3/ They were trained for territorial defence duties but "in fact we were thrown into an assault unit" on the front line. After only two days, they say they have suffered 19 wounded and two dead.

Additionally, the men's logistical support is non-existent.
