Maa Chinnamasta is believed to be one of the ten Mahavidya and a fierce part of Maa Parvati .
Numerous ancient religious text like Markandeya Puran,Shiv Puran,Skand Puran,Devi Bhagvata Puran and Tantrik texts elucidate this form of Maa Chinnamasta.

As per the Purans the Devi changed into Chandi to slay the demons.

Significance of Maa Chinnamasta ---As Kundalini Awakening

Maa has cut-off her own head which signifies death and she is standing over top of the love making couple "Kamadev and Rati" which signifies recreation..

so basically it represents that the cycle of creation and death and destruction is an ongoing process. On one hand there is death and another hand there is creation which is happening. She is holding her own
head signifies ego so the first step in attaining wisdom or advancing

on the path of dharma is letting go of your ego.

The Serpent around the neck of the Devi represents Kundalini Shakti, where the love making couple "Kamadev and Rati" are the symbols of sexual desire.

Maa standing over the love making couple signifies that she has complete control over the sexual desire .
Our head is the symbol of our ego in the pic Maa has cut off her own head which signifies that one should cut-off her/his ego.There are two Yoginis attendants of

Maa Chinnamasta "Dakini and Varnini" whom represents the Ida and Pingala Nadi and her head signifies Sushmana Nadi . After Kundalini awakened ,it is like a new birth for that person . Therefore Maa Parvati is reborn as Devi Chinnamasta.🙏🙏
