Moving to Florida? Think about it!
Florida has always been a little different.
Well, a lot different. Every day, strange news or new laws, regulations come out of Florida! Image
Florida's fascist governor pushed four new bills through various committees.
All four will becoming law since the the legislature is controlled by a super majority of far-right Republicans. Here are the highlights of those proposed bills:
SB102 - This bill will completely prohibits local governments from implementing rent control! It means that landlords will be able to charge renters as much as they desire.
HB543 – The governor referred to this law as "constitutional carry"because it would let Florida residents to carry weapons without a permit. The licensing procedure,which included background checks& instruction in the use of guns, would be abolished under the proposed legislation
HB133 – This bill would allow landlords to charge tenants a monthly, nonrefundable fee in lieu of a security deposit.
Since there are no restrictions on how much a landlord may charge its renters, it is essentially predatory.
SB170 – Another major victory for businesses, since this legislation would let companies to sue local governments for local regulations under the justification that the ordinance is "arbitrary or unreasonable"!
The power to enact laws that make sense in their communities will be taken away by this measure.
Well.. Florida is the place where you can expect the unexpected!

-Biblioburro (Columbia) - Teacher Luis Soriano had two donkeys that he nicknamed Alfa and Beto, which together make the word "alphabet" in Spanish. In order to read stories to pupils, he saddled up the donkeys,
