‼️Junior doctors voted YES for strike‼️

77.49% turnout 🗳️
98.06% voted YES ✊🏻

After 15 years, we have asked members and they answered ✊🏻

This ballots says #EnoughIsEnough 🪧

1/
Junior doctors’ pay has been eroded by more than 26.1% in 15 years ‼️
- Study for 5-6 years
- Train for 5-10+ years
- £100K of debt
- £27k for mandatory exams and fees

Paid as little as £14/hour to look after people’s lives

#EnoughIsEnough

2/
Like many others workers, we must take action to save our profession ✊🏻
- 10,000 junior doctors have left the profession in 2021
- 2/3 of juniors do not apply for speciality training
- 12% never return to training

We are #OverworkedUnderpaid

3/
@BMAYorkshire has driven the #PayRestoration movement via JD Conference and ARM:
- 2021 - asked for 15% pay rise
- 2022 - asked for pay restoration

Now we will see you on the picket lines, fighting for our profession and our patients.

4/
The Gov have ignored our calls to meet at the table.

We have had enough, burnout, poverty, increasing expenses, falling standards of care, suicide...

We have now sent a strong message: WE ARE READY TO FIGHT ✊🏻

5/
The government chose to ignore the recommendations of the pay review body.

They refused to meet with
@BMA_JuniorDocs

This fight is for our profession, our patients, our NHS.

1/5 @BMAstudents are greatly disappointed with the response received from the UKFPO on our requests around the removal of EAs from the FPAS scores.

(also see BMA letter attached: bma.org.uk/media/3603/201…)

2/5 This letter fails respond to our requests, and it ignores the overwhelmingly significant number of signatures on the petition also submitted to the UKFPO by medical students across the country.
3/5 @BMAstudents are very aware of the need to widen participation, and we will continue to oppose any decisions to remove ESs from FPAS until more we receive more comprehensive and stronger evidence of the proposals on multiple cohorts.
