For Rahul, Mamata, Pawar, Kejriwal, YSR, Nitish, Uddhav, Mayawati & a son each of Mulayam & Lalu to think that they can replace #NarendraModi even as a consensus candidate of the Opposition shows a complete deracination from what India is today.
Not only do they shamefully disrespect the fact that it
is we the people who gave Modi an overwhelming mandate twice over, but they don’t even make an attempt to understand why we did so.
It would then not be wrong to believe that we don’t even figure in their plans at all - their single point program of returning to power by hook or by crook & to get down to business as usual, of milking the country.
For anyone to vote for this lot would mean terrifying shortsightedness & worse, signing the death warrant of our children’s future.

It might not be popular opinion in some quarters but I have to say (even though being a life long animal lover) that we have
confused & convoluted municipal policies with regard to stray animals that are neither in the interest of animal or people.
Strays, be it cows, dogs, pigs, donkeys suffer terrible unspeakable cruelty & they live along side people on the streets, slums & rural areas, vying for space & even worse, sometimes foraging for food in the same dumps.
With blurred boundaries there is bound to be
confrontation & agression.
Yes, stray animals must be fed, neutered, vaccinated because they are on the streets & in close contact with us.
However, the question to ask is -
WHY are they are on the streets?
Answer - because our municipalities are not doing their job.
When I expressed dismay about BBC’s blatantly fake news on Kashmir soon after Abrogation of Art 370 to a friend in the UK who writes for a major daily, she remarked that its common knowledge among peers that BBC fronts the British Deep State.
Their reports, briefed & vetted before being delivered in their standard modulated tone & impeccable British accent unfortunately is no longer able to camouflage a deep rooted prejudice & dislike towards former colonial subjects.
And lately there is also a noticeable panic at a diminishing Britain & it’s relevance on the world stage.
Agenda, no doubt has always been supreme but in this #BBCDocumentary content & methodology has also been damned.
Delhi has been right royally screwed by all political parties through the decades with inducements of quarter, half, full statehood & then Union Territory status thrown in for good measure.
At one time the only noticeable difference in localities was whether they were managed by the MCD 96% or the NDMC 4% with the Cantonment under a different Board.
However, now anything a citizen points at, the CM directs you to the Centre & the Centre in turn, says it comes under the Delhi Govt…
We turn up for the Lok Sabha & Assembly elections but the importance of the MCD elections is entirely lost on us -
One would think Rahul has finally found his calling.
Not for him the responsibility & accountability that comes with the post of a Party President; that ties one down to the administrative, mundane, nitty gritty, interacting with regional leaders & worse, beholden to a fickle
electorate that can cast their vote this way or that, even after cheering wildly at road shows & rallies, leaving a President holding the can of electoral defeats docked against his name for posterity.
As if two consecutive Lok Sabha elections wasn’t bad enough & assembly
elections one has lost count of.
So for him these shine-bright postcard-capture moments work well, thank you. As that is all, he’s willing to give of himself.

More than a decade ago I was pleasantly surprised when on a visit to India a young niece who had been brought up for most of her life in the US recited the Hanuman Chalisa fluently, without hesitation, with her other cousins.
Her mother told me how it came to be.
At the age of 8 my niece asked her parents, both successful & busy doctors, if she could become a Christian…
All her friends had such fun on Sunday with Sunday school, church, camps where they bonded over campfires, story telling sessions & sing along hymns.
When my cousin explored further she found their Sikh friends went to the Gurudwara of course, but also had a Granthi come home for a few days of the month for the children.
As did her friends of the Muslim faith have a Maulvi teach the Quran.
