Tritsuk Detsen (ཁྲི་གཙུག་ལྡེ་བཙན) according to traditional sources, was the 41st king of the Yarlung Dynasty of #Tibet . Ralpachen is one of Tibet’s three Dharma Kings. Ralpachen is considered a very important king in the history of Tibet
and Tibetan #Buddhism , as one of the three Dharma Kings (chosgyal) of the Yarlung Dynasty, which includes Songtsen Gampo the 33rd king, Trisong Detsen the 38th king and Ralpachen.
All three kings respectively contributed to bringing Mahayana Buddhism to #Tibet, in revealing the Vajrayana through Guru Padmasambhava, and in supporting the growth of Buddhism, the building of monasteries, and the flourishing of Buddhism with imperial patronage.
The Tibetan Empire during the reign of Ralpachen grew to its largest extent, and the military battles with the Chinese Empire led to the 821-823 Tibet-China treaty.
Ralpachen was a great supporter of #Buddhism in Tibet. He built many temples and he invited many scholars from #India to #Tibet . He was also a skilled political and military leader, and during his reign, the Tibetan empire grew to its largest extent.
The assassination of Ralpachen by his brother Langdarma ended the imperial patronage of Buddhism in #Tibet . Langdarma persecuted Buddhism during his reign, and Langdarma's death was followed by civil war and the dissolution of the Tibetan Empire.
Ralpachen, then, died late in 838 and was buried near the Yarlung Valley; his tomb decorated with "a remarkable stone lion carved in a style said by some modern scholars to be Persian."
