Claiming “transgenderism must be eradicated” aka thinking people’s identity is an ideology, will not change the fact you called for us to be forcibly changed against our will to fit into your perception of public life. So yes you called us to be eradicated.
I am not a man. I’ve never been a man. I was perceived as one because it took me 27 years to come to term with who I fundamentally am. Claiming you want me to exist as a false notion to fit your ideology is no different than eradicating who I am.
I’m always very reluctant to compare these kind of tactics 1:1 with past events, but if you replace transgenderism with Judaism the parallels in the rhetoric are very apparent
It’s weird how much these “I’m just being cautious” pundits want to believe the most salacious stories about kids in gender clinics right?
Like I have absolutely no doubt in my mind of all the kids of all time who sought gender affirming care one has told a psychiatrist earnestly they identify as a rock or other object in nature. That does not mean this is a trend or a tactic to just get hormonal treatment fast.
I get concerned at how much they focus on this stuff the second there’s an organized campaign to purposely limit expansion of our civil rights or strip people of their bodily autonomy, which is what’s happening.
The New York Times response to the open letter contributors and other reporters signed basically defends it’s coverage of the trans community but includes a really noteworthy line about its perspective, imo:
The full thing can be read here hellgatenyc.com/new-york-times…, but by continuing to focus on how “society is grappling” with this treatment the Times is taking a side about transgender medical care. That side is, it’s totally okay for it’s fundamental right to exist to be questioned.
For many transgender people, this means not holding medical forces which inherently are biased against us and untrained for our needs, largely, to account, but holding both groups that was us not to have care and patient advocacy groups to account.
The premise of this story is a trans woman said “I’m going to wipe my hands on my penis” after they both reached for the paper towels and had an awkward moment.
The stories people tell themselves to justify bigotry sometimes are just hilarious.
Like this woman 100% said “I’m going to wipe my hands on my pants” to say “no you go head I’ll get out of your way.” But this woman misheard and is sharing her panic attack in the daily mail.
And SO MANY people will eat it up.
God I hate that this is exactly what happened because Sophie is very nice and absolutely does not deserve to have a banal encounter of her daily existence be written up in the daily mail
Once again I am begging people to send me some questions so I have something to do when feeding my kid at 4 am ngl.link/sydney.bauer41
Ooo this is a good one. Likely the Netherlands and Norway. A trip that was supposed to happen in 2020/21 but got cancelled!
Probably seeing ordinary people realize that there’s a lot of love and joy out there when we fight for each other and take that energy and just…be good people to one another. Most people are not like the vileness online.
