The last three months have shown that Ukraine’s strategy of “killing as many Russians as possible to stop them” has not worked. Massive Russian casualties coincided with biggest Russian territorial gains since July last year. Russia has no manpower problem as life is cheap there.

Ukraine must focus on destroying arms & ammunition instead, which works well. Additionally, I see no way but to throw more own soldiers into the face to face battle as there won’t be sufficient modern firepower to kill enough Russians from the distance for the foreseeable future.

For this to work, Ukraine needs many more western weapons and ammunition, which luckily are set to arrive over the next months. So the defense of the East and South might be guaranteed.
But what about the offense and liberation of more occupied land?

The Ukrainian army is destroying the bridges to western Bakhmut.
More signs of a change in strategy.

The Russian invasion forces spearhead is currently located 7 km N-W of Bakhmut.
A Ukrainian drone video shows, it is still only engaged with artillery, which didn't stop it over the last 50 km moving West.

Finally.

Situation here. Russia is bombing various regions in Ukraine for two hours now. No impacts in Lviv so far.

On the way to Kyiv physical war damage is still visible all around from Makariv to the east. Ukraine started fixing the first damaged bridges and is cleaning up everywhere, but even here it will take years to rebuild what Russia destroyed in February and March last year.

Unfortunately, there is no change in battlefield dynamics on the northern Donetsk front.
On a front length of 30 km, Russian invasion forces keep slowly but steadily advancing, by far outnumbering Ukrainian defenders.
Russian aim remains to capture Bakhmut and advance westwards.
