Tech abuse session… the event focused on tech abuse and how to get tech to women who need it…. 1/
What is Technology facilitated abuse?
It’s a form of controlling behaviour that involves the misuse of tech in order to control, harm, coerce, stalk, threaten another person !!! It happens every day and abusers are finding different ways to use it… the impact… 2/
Abusers tactics are still the same, they just now have more reach, they can track, spy, stalk all from their armchair. People suffering tech abuse feel they have no escape 😢 3/
Tech safety, it’s easy to say “get rid of your tech” why should survivors of abuse do so? “ just come off twitter/ Facebook/ insta “ why? They have done nothing wrong! it’s akin to saying, dress less provocatively, think about that! 4/
Here’s some examples of tech abuse… just think on if anyone says these things to you!!! It’s abuse plain and simple 5/#DomesticAbuse#DigitalAbuse#TechAbuse
Australia have a great initiative called safe connections. They supply tech to abuse survivors. Clean safe phones, they also run courses to keep the survivors safe, oh to have a competent minister running the show here 🙄 6/
So is Tech abuse happening to you? Or someone you know???? 7/. Resources can be found techsafety.org.au

I'm so glad that @UKLabour are going to look at changing the UK laws regarding common law property rights. I've done a lot of reading up on what they propose. It would be amazing .
People believe that if you live together for a number of years have kids you will .. 1/
Be Entitled to something. This is is not the case. If you have stayed home, run the house, looked after the kids, facilitated it so your partner can work, looked after them.
If you haven't worked, or contributed to the bills then you leave with nothing, nada, zip.... 2/
Even if you have been together 20 years. You get fuck all.
This means that leaving is virtually impossible, no chance to save as you have no income to save from. So how do you leave ??? You can't you are trapped.
If the relationship is abusive it's worse you could .....3/
Well the UN Women conference is over I’m exhausted, but it was so worthwhile. So many topics I learned about. The main thing I came away with is the realisation that in 2023 we seem to be going backwards rather than forwards. While we have more women in STEM we … 1/
Are failing in other areas. While technology is helping many women get back into work, connecting women with services and making life easier in many ways there is a down side.
Social media being used to bully, harass and stalk women. Women being forced ….2/
Into online sex work as distance is no barrier so organised gangs can keep the women locked away in front of a camera.
Domestic abusers using it to control women till they feel there is no escape. Using tech in new cars to track their victims every move. …..3/
I think we need a place for this, Mother’s Day is also a time to remember those mother figures no longer with us, this is “mother honey” my grandma. She was the most formidable of women and I think I’m like her,…1/
She was loved by everyone, loving, kind and a tongue as sharp as a razor blade. Funny, crazy my rock, I can’t put into words how much I loved her, how much I miss her but I carry her with me every day. 2/
A short time before she passed she gave me a brown paper bag, inside 3 pairs of pure silk stockings from the war “ look after these my princess, spent a lot of time on my knees during the war for those” 🤣 this was so her ❤️❤️❤️3/
It’s #WomensDay2023 and I know so many amazing women. Many inspire me but it’s not just about that, some are funny, fiercely independent, loving, strong, clever, passionate, individual and some are just making it through the day. As for me well today I realised ….1/
I’m enough, I’ve been filled with self doubt for a long time but today I’m going to be happy with me, where I am and the things I’ve achieved. I’ve raised 3 amazing kids and that is my proudest achievement #WomenPower 2/
So here’s a few fucking amazing women ..
My daughter who inspires me everyday she’s fought adversity to be where she is.
My Mum and my aunts strong bad ass northern women.
My dear late grandma Mother Honey she was the bomb.
My Bestie Sarah love her ..3/
In February I discussed what I thought Johnson would do after #Partygate came to light. I said we were reaching a very turbulent time in politics,
I predicted that the man would never resign. I was right. Even when he received the FPN i said…1/
He still wouldn’t resign. I wish I was wrong but I wasn’t.
The other thing I said was he would change the laws that would mean he didn’t have to go. Again I was right. #MinisterialCode
My other prediction has me more scared than ever. I said a desperate man…. 2/
Would do desperate things to cling to power. So letters are going in to the 1922 committee. He’s going to get more desperate, he will promise his back benchers the world to keep favour example #ImperialMeasurements and lots of other small but damaging things for the Uk….. 3/
