I’m sure these people weren’t always unhinged like they are now. What has happened?

This is just #nodebate rehashed. Hardline GCs are increasingly not interested in laying out arguments, even internally. It makes their political aims less likely to succeed – if you’re not capable of making a case, you won’t convince anyone to back your cause

At this point, I would like to never hear phrases like ‘I am not a handmaiden to men’ ever again, because all they do is shut down discussions, letting the speaker indulge an air of superiority

‘How do protections against things like housing discrimination for trans people negatively impact women’s rights?’

‘How dare you ask me a question like that. I am not a handmaiden to men.’

It’s amazing to me that women who have lived through the journey we’ve been on to get politicians and the media to take seriously ‘men shouldn’t be in women’s prisons’ as a legitimate rights issue, rather than hateful irrelevance…

Are unable to understand that ‘oi, politician, you should remove the protected characteristic of gender reassignment from the Equality Act, fuck the transes, and the reason why is because men are men and I’m not a handmaiden!’
