Here you have now former LA Mayor Eric Garcetti who is Biden's nominee for Ambassador to India.

On the far left is Rick Jacobs his deputy chief of staff.

Rick has placed his hand, without consent, over the crotch of a man.

2. Eric Garcetti says he did not see Rick Jacobs make this inappropriate gesture but that's not the point.

The point is Rick Jacobs felt comfortable doing this in front of his boss, the Mayor of Los Angeles.

Staff members also sent this photo around after as if it was funny.

3. Rick Jacobs has a long history of behaving inappropriately in the workplace including sexual assault and harassment.

Eric Garcetti not only repeatedly witnessed this conduct, he laughed it off.

That's why Rick Jacobs felt comfortable, he knew there would be no consequences.

4. A member of Eric Garcetti's security detail as Mayor has sued the City of LA for Rick Jacobs' repeated sexual harassment and assault.

He says Garcetti repeatedly witnessed Rick Jacobs' egregious conduct and did nothing to stop it.

5. As detailed in the report linked above and this report, many, many people were aware that Rick Jacobs was a problem and that Garcetti not only witnessed his sexual harassment and assault but also did nothing to stop it.

6. Many of the people who witnessed and experienced Rick Jacobs' inappropriate behavior (and saw Garcetti witness it and do nothing to stop it) have given sworn statements to Congress.

Garcetti lied to Congress, during his confirmation, about what he saw and his own conduct.

7. And as much as the Biden administration and Garcetti want you to think the people who spoke to Congress are on some partisan witch hunt nothing could be further from the truth.

The whistleblowers are Democrats, many of whom worked with Garcetti and Jacobs.

8. It's been over 600 days since Garcetti was nominated for US Ambassador to India.

In the time since he was nominated, dozens of Biden's Ambassador picks have been confirmed.

This is not an issue with the Senate, it's an issue with Garcetti.

9. For some reason, Biden has insisted on standing by Garcetti and not even giving the whistleblowers the time of day.

India, a G20 country and a key ally in a chaotic neighborhood, has been left without a US ambassador.

10. Eric Garcetti won't give up on this nomination.

His parents have gone so far as to hire a lobbyist for him, which is virtually unprecedented.

Instead of being embarrassed that he's in this position and needing a lobbyist, Garcetti has doubled down.

11. Garcetti was so desperate he had his friends and allies pressure Senator Mark Kelly to support his nomination.

As part of this pressure campaign, Garcetti's allies implied donor networks in LA would cut off Kelly if he didn't support Garcetti.

12. Usually a story like the one above would lead a nominee to withdraw in embarrassment.

But Garcetti has persisted with the support of President Biden.

13. Tomorrow (Wednesday) the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is going to vote on Garcetti's nomination and whether to send it to the full Senate for a vote.

Expect most, if not all, of the Republicans to vote against it.

It's unclear how all the Democrats will vote.

14. Next will be a decision by @chuckschumer on whether or not he should burn valuable floor time to get Garcetti's nomination up for a full vote.

All I know is this, anyone who votes for Garcetti should never utter #MeToo again...
