Shufu had taken him and A-Huan along to a meeting in Lanling and after meeting a very bratty baby Zixuan, he decided he did not want to deal with people anymore. He tugged on his Shufu’s clothes and the three Lans went to the gardens to be alone.
In the big garden there was a pond and Babyji was elated to see there were very big ducks in the pond. His big eyes shone brightly and he pointed to the animals:
“Duck!”
“A-Zhan, those are not ducks, they are geese.” Said LQR.

Babyji tilted his head and looked intently at the new animal. They resembled ducks but had long necks like swans. Babyji found them cute.
He let go of Shufu’s hand and toddled towards the pond. A-Huan followed behind him, careful so his didi would not get hurt.

One of the geese looked at him and honked. Babyji was taken aback. They did not quack! Still, he crouched by the pond and tried to imitate them. He honked back at them, making his gege giggle.
“A-Zhan be careful! Geese are not like ducks.”

LQR started to approach the brothers, but Babyji had already grabbed a few grass blades and was offering them to the honking goose, like he did with the ducks in CR. The goose started to approach them, honking once more.
Babyji extended his hand as much as he could.

And A-Huan was ready to catch his didi if he fell. The goose was almost by their side and then… CHOMP.
LQR arrived just in time to grab Babyji, rescuing his little hand from the goose’s mouth.
He had chomped his hand!! He had given him food but he had hurt him!

Babyji did not get it! His bunnies never bit him, neither did the ducks or the birds! Why would that big duck do it?
Big fat tears started leaking from his eyes as he craddled his bitten hand. A-Huan had shooed the goose away with an angry shout, getting a honk in return.

LQR hugged Babyji, telling him that geese were more violent than ducks, he should not approach them.
A-Zhan decided then that he did not like Lanling and he certainly did not like geese!
